In spite of its many flaws, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a fun game with lots of replayability, but a series of mistakes in game design and quests that are not always pointful has made one of the most promising titles of Nintendo Switch a mediocre game.

The evaluation of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is doomed to be polarized. It has many advantages, and can attract a lot of players. Meanwhile, there are plenty of terrible design that cannot be understood in it too, such as lengthy game pace, tedious missions and boring combat. To love or to hate, that is a question.

Don't let your first impressions deceive you: If you look behind the curtains, what you'll find here is an excellent JRPG with a great story, fantastic music and a world that's a joy to roam around in and explore. It's just a shame that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 suffers from technical issues, a bad lootbox-like reward system and too much fanservice.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is, without a doubt, a game that any Nintendo Switch owner should try, but maybe stick with playing in docked mode wherever possible.

While Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is easily one of the best RPGs released this year, it sometimes suffers from an embarrassing level of fanservice.

I enjoyed my time with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a great deal, but it saddens me that I only enjoyed it a great deal. I honestly can't believe that a studio of Monolith's size and prestige would somehow miss that its narrative is rife with tonal inconsistencies, and leave me wondering whether I was playing something serious.

Monolith Soft creates a solid sequel in the anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which brings a more streamlined RPG experience to audiences, but the odd design elements do limit it from being a classic.

Despite all of its flaws, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is still a very enjoyable experience. The battle system is as fun as ever, and you will still get that satisfaction from mastering the system and taking down a tough foe. The team at Monolith Soft also stay in top form when it comes to integrating gameplay and world-building.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 does a lot of things right, but suffers under its own weight and poor design decisions. Despite everything it's the first exclusive jRPG worth owning for the Switch, and with a little more polish it could be one of the best jRPGs of the last few years.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is overall mostly a quality RPG that has charm and character, while making up for some of the lacking aspects of Xenoblade Chronicles X, but small issues stop it from hitting the heights of Xenoblade Chronicles, sitting in between the two games in this trio series.

Like a great novel or a TV show that you're binging, you'll start to think about Chronicles when you're not playing it. You might even dream about it.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 features plenty of elements that will marvel the players and fans, including an immense amount of content, an enormous lifespan and exquisite visuals and soundtrack. Not all is perfect, though, as the interface really needs to be more user-friendly and the game takes long from the beginning until it becomes more compelling to play, issues that should be solved in the near future with downloadable updates.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 certainly isn't a title for those looking for a quick to play RPG or an easy to learn experience, but for anyone willing to invest the time there's a gem underneath that just needs to be buffed out.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the biggest game on Nintendo Switch, which lacks polishing of individual elements. Nevertheless, thanks to the unique world, the best combat system in the series, beautiful music, great characters and spectacular vistas - it's really difficult to stop playing and enjoying. Even in spite of some strangeness, gameplay limitations and excessive anime vibes, we spent about 150 hours in Xenoblade 2 and look forward to the new game Monolith Soft.

To the delight of many, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is less X and more traditional Xenoblade. Although they all have a special place in my library, I appreciate the return to what brought Monolith Soft back into the public eye after a series of portable games.
