Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are fantastic games on their own and they are a true mark on PlatinumGames’ ability as creative developers

The first Bayonetta is one of the best stylish action game ever. Similar to the Wii U version, this new edition is smoother than the previous one. It is the last call to play with the sexy witch witch before the arrival of next chapter. Bayonetta 2 on Switch looks smoother and more solid. It is undoubtedly on of the best action games ever made, and it's a joy to play while we wait for the next chapter.

Put simply, if you're a fan of the series, Bayonetta 1 & 2 are essential on the Nintendo Switch, especially if, like me, you only plan to play them in handheld mode.

PlatinumGames' Switch debut leaves me excited for the future. The witch is back in a style and form befitting only of herself, paving the way for, and bridging the gap to, Bayonetta 3. Bayonetta + Bayonetta 2 demonstrates the Switch can not only run the greats of the Wii U on the go, but run them at their best.

Between the tongue-and-cheek gameplay and the upgraded playability, Bayonetta 1 & 2 for the Nintendo Switch are remarkably polished ports. Although additional modes and features wouldn’t have gone amiss for those who purchased the Wii U version, the games are superb in their own right. Featuring best-in-class portability, enhanced performance and a lick of polish, Bayonetta 1 & 2 on the Switch are insanely fun, non-stop action games. After all; once you pop, you just can’t stop.

We are happy that SEGA, Nintendo and Platinum Games have reached a new agreement to continue a series that deserves a third installment, but while that exclusive for the Nintendo Switch arrives, it is good to be able to prepare with this collection that allows you to play anywhere.

Bayonetta 2 is a perfect choice to port over to the Nintendo Switch. The eclectic action and story is a treat on its own, but it's amazing how great it looks and plays when in handheld mode.

[Bayonneta is] one of the best action game ever made, reborn thanks to the hybrid gameplay possibilities offered by Switch. Like the first chapter's porting, Bayonetta 2 is one of the best action game available on Switch

The developers haven't messed with the content. Because almost no one bought the Wii U, few people had the chance to play Bayonetta 2. With Bayonetta 3 on the horizon, giving people a chance to catch up is a really good idea on Nintendo's part. That's why these ports have been released, and they're that good that, even if you were one of the few with a Wii U, you may as well buy them again.

Never mind the extras, Nintendo-only goodies, or even the, somewhat lame, and Switch-only, optional touch controls. The only important thing is that this great hack 'n' slasher called Bayonetta can now be experienced everywhere, and with next to no sacrifices in terms of visual quality. Bayonetta 2 remains a niche title that will annoy some and be loved by others. Some of its mechanics have been left untouched from the original game, and, most importantly, it's pretty much the same deal all over again... and yet, this remains one of the finest specimens of hack 'n' slash-y, brawling fun...now on its perfect home: Nintendo Switch.

As a fan of Bayonetta I was very much looking forward to the release of both available parts for the Nintendo Switch. Even though the touchscreen controls won't knock anyone's socks off, you can tell that the developer has really thought about his software instead of just releasing a clumsy port for the switch, which unfortunately happens very often. The gameplay is simple, but the variety of combos is hard to master. It takes a little bit of experience to be able to react accordingly in every situation. But this is exactly what makes games of this genre. The passionate gamer with a penchant for brute action can't get past Bayonetta 2. To complete the gaming experience, Nintendo offers a fair deal for the bundle of both parts. So I recommend to every prospective customer to quit Bayonetta and then enter Bayonetta 2. Because of the co-op mode, you can always find a player online and have a lot of fun if the playing time is short. Finally, the ambitious collector of the much too expensive Amiibo can use it to good effect. Finally there is a good game that gives you an advantage, but is not too unfair to players who don't own any or only a few of the NFC figures. The whole package is a success and we can make a very clear recommendation to buy with a good knowledge and conscience!

All in all, I rather enjoyed my time with both Bayonetta games on Nintendo Switch. Altogether, I spent a combined 20 or so hours playing the games, and felt it was time well spent. Though the first game did have some questionable design choices that kept it from a perfect score, the sequel does a great job of balancing things out. As far as replay value, there’s a bunch for both titles, though the second offers more incentives to play again such as unlockable Jeanne and other goodies. While I enjoy the costume changes in both games, I only tinkered with them a little on the original, since it was less work to just select from 5 preloaded Nintendo costumes than hunt for specific amiibo for Bayonetta 2. Overall, I would suggest any fan of crazy action games or Platinum get both Bayonetta games on Nintendo Switch, just to experience them all over again. Now I’ll have to play some more to while away the hours until Bayonetta 3 gets a release date…

Overall, this collection is very good, adding cool new features, giving a superior experience to past releases, and just being standout games. No better time to jump in than with a third game coming. Sixty dollars is pretty steep even with two games, but they are worth every penny. Do yourself a favor, and experience these games.

Bayonetta 1+2 are also on the Switch essential games for every gamer and Nintendo Switch Owner. Despite some minor setbacks when it comes to playing the game on a 4K TV, both Parts will make you enjoy your time coming back to the series and hype even a skeptic for Bayonetta 3.

Both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are fantastic games in their own right, despite being more than just a few years old. In the Switch, both have found their true home and compliment the system perfectly, so it’s only right that the best version of both games is found on Nintendo’s portable console. If you haven’t already played them, these two deserve to be in your library.
