Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is a game that is great for fans of the series. Unfortunately, I do not see this game doing well outside of that. ==

For all its clunkiness, control problems and continued loading there is something at its core that fans of the series will find hard to not enjoy. This is driven by the early interactions with the iconic characters of the franchise and sets the game world of Gun Gale Online up to be a memorable one. If you’re a fan of Sword Art Online this could be for you but otherwise it might be worth switching out.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is the most beautiful and extensive title of the series so far but it stays mostly a generic shooter in its core. The enemy AI never really shines and besides the wide cast the story doesn't really deliver anything special to motivate you for the upcoming grind.

SAO: Fatal Bullet has many great features both in gameplay or interesting characters, amazing boss battles and good soundtrack, but in contrast made a somewhat boring story in the first 30 hours, but it starts to improve after that, and I wished if the world design was more interesting and the artificial intelligence of your classmates are very bad, but in the end if you're a fan for the series, you'll obviously love it.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is probably the best project in the series over the past few years. It features nice combat mechanics and an interesting system for collecting loot and exploring dungeons. On the other hand, it lacks a good story and proper explanation of important game elements. Sadly, our final impression was spoiled.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is an atypical - but funny - RPG with a lot of TPS features, made by Dimps (also known as Dragon Ball Xenoverse developers).

The focus may be on you and your avatar but sadly Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet relies too heavily on it's source material and won't let you leave the shadow of the series protagonist. Repetitive gameplay, undeveloped systems and a story that is forgettable leave this entry in the series rather disappointing.

A good tie-in of the originale anime series, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is a solid JRPG, a bit repetitive and with the difficulty not well balanced.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is not a bad game per se, there are no real flaws or problems, but the overall experience is a little bland and generic. Things get a little (but just a little) better if you play with some friends, even in PvP. It's your typical product that will only please the hardcore fans of the original material, nothing more.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is easily the most polished Sword Art Online game to date, but it's also one of the least imaginative. A strange union of third-person shooting and role-playing action, it offers up quite a unique mix of gameplay and a progression loop that's really quite addictive, but the overall package rarely thrills. By stepping away from Kirito and the gang, the story definitely benefits, but it's not enough to inject life into a game that often feels bland and monotonous. Fatal Bullet's still a solid anime-based title, but unless you love to grind, you'll likely lose interest.

A slow start to Fatal Bullet makes way for some great gunplay, but that peters out as derivative dungeon design and bullet sponge bosses take hold and throttle the life out of it.

While the game is a lot of fun, it is hard to shake the feeling that if it was a full MMO it would be better. The Co Op mode goes someway to fix this and thankfully there is plenty of content to keep fans of the genre and of the series occupied. Definitely worth playing if you want an anime inspired world to run around in for a long time.

Dimps Studios could have gone further with a brand like Sword Art Online. Fatal Bullet has a too classic design and, finally, the previous video games are more fun and original than this third person shooter-JRPG. Its main attraction is in the cooperative missions.

Despite the rough edges, Dimps' work is easy to like if you're a Sword Art Online fan hungry for something new to advance the franchise with. Though ultimately held back by the jank, it's definitely worth checking out, if for nothing else than a welcome change of pace and setting.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is more of a curious experiment for the series that attempts to take it into a new direction with some major glaring flaws.

It's still one for the fans, but this may be the best adaptation of the license yet.

Vastly improved graphics and the ability to play as a customer character make Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet an attractive game. Even though you swap swords, fantasy and magic for guns and an apocalyptic dystopian world, the combat system leaves a lot to be desired on console. It feels like it was made for PC and the assist mode just makes combat feel more cheap than engaging. Still a solid improvement over previous games, though and still worth a play!

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is easily the best SAO game to date. Gameplay is fun and there’s enough on offer so don’t be worried if you don’t think you’d be getting your money’s worth. Fans of the franchise will be pleased with how well the source material is being treated in video game format, where previous titles might have been a letdown.

Despite the issues with balance, juvenile moments in the writing, and the occasional bug that suggested the ambition of the game slightly overextended its budget, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is the best video game entry in this particular franchise.
