The game’s strong core mechanics and visual upgrades weren’t quite enough to distract me from reminders that this entry may have been where Burnout veered off course.

Burnout Paradise Remastered brings the audacity and extremeness of previous titles but somehow loses its purpose by reaching too far. An absolute thrill ride when you can think up fun new things to try.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is a lacklustre take on one of last-generation's most beloved titles.

There are much more capable racing games I’d recommend for the Switch, and unless you have some fond memories of the original game, I wouldn’t recommend this remaster until a steep discount happens.

Burnout Paradise Remastered crashes onto the Nintendo Switch with simple, nostalgic gameplay and buttery smooth performance.

If you have nothing else to play or have fond memories of the original series then this game will fill a hole in your library.

Burnout Paradise Remastered on Switch runs really well, and if the price doesn’t bother you it’s easy to recommend on the system if you have a love for the game.

This brings me to my final conclusion; why buy Burnout Paradise Remastered? It’s a great game, true, and it looks shinier now, of course. But really, given that the original is only ten years old and available on both PC and last gen consoles, not a lot has changed to justify the stunningly high asking price that EA have attached to this version.

Overall, Burnout Paradise Remastered on the Nintendo Switch is a very good game. It has everything that you need from an open world racer in terms of gameplay, and while some of the systems are dated, you’ll barely noticed them once you’ve experienced the driving.

A great remastering job to a game that is well worth a double dip.

Burnout Paradise Remastered is well worth the return trip, if only as a reminder of what a real arcade racing game feels like. Still, its open world design and the slew of experimental DLC additions overload the experience and prove that cruising the city is no substitute for a good Takedown.

Burnout Paradise Remastered dusts off the old game, but doesn’t stand out in any particular way – it simply is all right. If you own a console and don’t know this game, it’s a great opportunity to give it a shot – it’s still as great as it ever was. If you own a PC, you can just go back to The Ultimate Box.

Despite a lacklustre remaster (I'm looking at you, textures), returning fans will feel right at home in Paradise City with Burnout Paradise Remastered. Though newcomers to the franchise may be a little disappointed at first because of its last-gen mentality, there's still a lot to enjoy with this neat little package.

Even after all this time, Burnout Paradise remains an absolute blast to play. The upgrade to 60fps in Remastered only heightens the adrenaline rush, and the game’s emphasis on exploration and quick-fire racing make it a brilliant fit for being taken on the go.

Elements of Burnout Paradise are starting to show their age now, but nobody can argue with the quality of its actual racing action. If you can put up with its various niggles and quirks and don't mind the astronomical price (relative to other systems), it's easily one of the most entertaining – and certainly one of the fastest – racing games on the Switch.

Burnout Paradise Remastred is a lazy portage of his illustrious elder. If we are happy to have the most complete version here, we can only regret that there has not been some modifications the ergonomics of the title. At this price we have the most beautiful and the most complete version of a game that has 10 years of age on its gameplay (wich is excellent, as we already know).

Burnout Paradise Remastered for the Nintendo Switch comes with its fair share of issues. You'll experience a lot of blurriness playing it handheld, and might struggle making out what's what at high speeds even when playing it docked. Plus, there's that big $50 price tag for a 2008 game. Yet, included in the remaster is eight of the nine premium DLC, which comes with nearly all the vehicles unlocked, as well as one of the best racing soundtracks to ever exist.

Ultimately, Burnout Paradise Remastered on Switch is a solid racing experience that offers a unique take on the arcade racer, where the player is encouraged to take down the opposition by any means necessary. There’s plenty of content to keep players busy for tens of hours in solo play, and a substantial online experience to master.
