If you’re a fan of brawlers, there’s no reason I can think of that you should pass up Penny-Punching Princess.

Penny-Punching Princess provides a great amount of replayability, as each mission can be replayed any number of times to capture more monsters, find a missed treasure, or to get a better grade. Backtracking and replaying previous missions is required to create stronger armor to proceed, so be prepared for a bit of grinding to capture enough monsters. The music fits each environment and scene well, from the melodic piano to hard guitar riffs perfectly matches each setting of this game. While some may be turned off by the amount of grinding and somewhat repetitive gameplay, a story this hilarious, gameplay very tight, and the difficulty curve puuuurfect, Penny-Punching Princess is very worthy of a 4.5 out of 5.

Penny-Punching Princess' simplicity is its strongest factor, but its lack of polish in narrative, and the price make it hard to recommend to every Switch owner.

Penny-Punching Princess is an entertaining and fast-paced game in which you always need to be on high alert since a lot is going on in each fight as you juggle enemies and traps in small arena-style spots… which only gets worse when you're also facing against a mid-boss! If you're a fan of dungeon crawlers then I definitely recommend you give this one a try since it's a game that will keep you coming back for more until the end.

But this doesn’t detract from the game’s good qualities, and soon you’ll be beating your way through all manner of foes and enjoying yourself immensely. That is what Penny Punching Princess does well, making you enjoy your small jaunts with it. It is definitely a game I will be recommending on Switch, and one I think anybody who buys it will have an enjoyable time with and get their money’s worth.

Penny-Punching Princess has a lot of charm. The pixel art of the characters look good. The music is good. The gameplay is addicting. Anyone looking for mindless fun will get something out of this. Anyone who wants a little more than that and enjoys the visual flare of earning experience points on the fly (in this case coins flying out of enemies) will surely get a kick (and punch) out of it. The bribing element of gameplay is uniquely implemented, but it could be improved. The entire charade of capitalism is a bonus. Certainly a beat-'em-up with style.

Penny-Punching Princes is an interesting game which combines various gameplay mechanics in order to deliver a unique gaming experience. Embracing the bribery mechanic, you can spend hours searching for the creatures you need for your armour and convincing them to come with you on your journey whilst also ensuring you obtain the correct traps to help you wipe out the others. The only let-down is having to repeat previous levels due to the 'you die, you lose everything' mentality of the death mechanic, this made some levels boring and monotonous due to their length and you usually being OP when you are replaying levels.

Regardless of the problems, Penny-Punching Princess is a good portable game. While players can sit and grind all day, levels are short and simple enough to make it the perfect grab and go title.

With an arcade-style gameplay and RPG elements, Penny-Punching Princess is quite an original title. While not as easy as it seems, the game is still a fair challenge, but might be a niche game that fans of the genre will appreciate.

Penny-Punching Princess is a very fun and rewarding dungeon crawler with humor that is quite good. The game's design is impressive as well with charming and likeable characters that shine in their pixelated goodness. The game is worth every penny on Nintendo Switch, and it is a highly addictive release you should check out.

Overall, Penny-Punching Princess is a quirky Switch game from a reliable publisher. Sometimes you can get games of pure genius, sometimes you’ll get a solid effort. Sadly Penny-Punching Princess is more towards the latter but that is not to say it’s not an enjoyable game, because it is. I think the price will do it an injustice though as I do think it’s too expensive for what it is and will put off a lot of potential customers who are on the fence. It’s mindless action that holds on to the money concept for dear life and it works well, if a little clunky at times, and the brawling isn’t particularly as deep as it could have been. It’s still an enjoyable romp though for those wanting a bit of chaotic action with a twist.

Each battle in every mission is equal parts challenging and annoying, which ends up being a surprisingly potent mix to keep you coming back. Penny-Punching Princess may have its quirks but it won’t waver in keeping your attention.

Penny-Punching Princess is equally off the wall and ridiculously fun at the same time. The visuals will no doubt put a smile on the faces of regular NIS game fans, but the grind can be an annoyance. The story is a little lacking, but what there is of it is enough to keep you entertained throughout.

NIS delivers the weird yet again with Penny-Punching Princess, a fun little arcade romp that just escapes the danger of staleness. Stretched a little too thin but a lot of people are going to be enjoying this one with a price drop.

Penny-Punching Princess offers a great twist on the classic RPG formula, adding a new bribing system that takes your opponents out of the game to use for your own advantage. You'll find many hours' worth of content available here, and learning how to best use your magic calculator abilities for maximum success is highly enjoyable.

Penny-Punching Princess offers up a world where the heroine can solve (nearly) all of her problems through cold, hard cash, providing for some legitimately fun (and funny) scenarios to play out across the dungeon brawler's various chapters. Unfortunately, a necessity for grinding and some wild spikes in difficulty cause the princess' stockpile of coins to lose some of its shine.

Penny-Punching Princess combines a lot of elements together and doesn't quite form a completely-perfect cloth out of them.

Penny-Punching Princess might have its issues, but it's a nice lightweight brawler that mixes together quick levels and a focus on grinding for items to make for a good home and portable experience on Switch, even if sometimes that expedient pace can be thwarted by some choke points. The issues might drag it down overall, but enough clever ideas make this a game worth checking out, as long as you're not that much in debt to the Dragoloans.

Penny-Punching Princess is a simple brawler with a unique economy system thrown in the mix. There are some flaws with its level design and the repetitive nature of its gameplay loop is not for everyone, but it is still a good fit for a portable system where it works best when played in short bursts.

Penny-Punching Princess continues NIS America’s trend of offering unconventional RPGs that blend together a quirky setup with unique gameplay mechanics, but it really does make for a good time. It has its fair share of flaws, with the repetitive drag of forced-grinding proving to be the most severe, but I can’t deny that I had a ton of fun with the game – each frustration is outweighed by the satisfaction of the entertaining brawling with your gold-hungry ‘allies’ by your side. It’s far from perfect, but anyone who enjoys an RPG that genuinely does something a little different will want to give Penny-Punching Princess a try.
