Black Ops 4 brings the fun and dares to change. There might not be a campaign, but its replacement called Blackout is so much fun to play. Even if Battle Royale isn't your thing, you can still find enjoyment in the revamped Zombies and the multiplayer modes.

While some post launch balancing and netcode improvement is in order, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is another strong release from Treyarch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be appreciated or not, you can hardly have an opinion that goes in the middle. Activision and Treyarch have meticulously listened to the requests of the community bringing to light a solid and well-varied product in the ways that, unfortunately, sins of a single player campaign clumsily replaced by tutorials, starring the various Specialists, somewhat bland.

With a rich multiplayer mode, a great zombie experience and a battle royale that was able to differentiate from the others, BO4 is a really needed fresh start for the franchise. While everything looks great, the absence of a campaign mode, alongside the technical problems and the abundant presence of microtransaction, really hurt the final score.

Black Ops 4, looks great with its excellent designed maps (which all run smoothly on PC by the way). The bots do a decent job of keeping players on their toes, and the zombies provide enough drama to keep you coming back for one more attempt. The entire package works despite the lack of an actual campaign. The bite-sized chunks of modes make up for this offering plentiful replay value. The bonus in all of this is once you feel competent enough to play with others then that option is available as well depending on how good your Internet connection is. Black Ops 4 is worth a punt if you enjoy the game modes on offer. If a more story based antics appeal to you more then it’s a no-brainer this isn’t going to scratch your itch.

Treyarch new approach to the Black Ops franchise is a hit and miss. Without a doubt is a great FPS and the inclusion of Blackout is a great idea to mix things up, but the lack of campaign definitely affects the whole package since it may have interesting characters, but leaves them no ground to explore or grow.

Call Of Duty is a franchise that has almost always stuck to its set formula. That abruptly changes with Black Ops 4 and the end result is better for it. The Blackout mode comes across as the evolution of not only the Battle Royale genre, but also the Call Of Duty franchise as a whole. The accessible mode is accompanied by familiar and improved aspects, such as the multi-layered Zombie mode and a competitive multiplayer that finally feels competitive again. You may forget that Call Of Duty ever needed a single player campaign at all.

Black Ops 4 is the biggest change to the formula in recent Call of Duty history, and in large part is for the better. Blackout is a suitable replacement for the single player campaign, zombies has seen meaningful changes to its meta-game, and multiplayer is more of the same great thing.

Treyarch has put their time and effort in compensating the lack of a single-player campaign by polishing and developing its content, making sure that they have refined the game’s combat system and find the right balance. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is fun, entertaining, and addicting. While ditching the single-player campaign can be a huge turn-off, once you realize Black Ops 4’s potential and how enjoyable their multiplayer modes are, especially its great battle royale mode Blackout, you will definitely love Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 got rid of the single-player campaign and expanded the multiplayer. The new Battle Royale mode is definitely worthy of attention and if you're looking for a quality multiplayer shooter, you're at the right place.

Aside from some admittedly minor gripes and the typically icky post-launch content malarkey, Black Ops IIII is an undeniably appealing multiplayer gaming package. Blackout is a faster and more dynamic battle royale mode than the reigning PUBG and Fortnite; the arena mode has changed in ways that encourage team play, and strategy and Zombies is still a joy, just with more customisation. Black Ops IIII is like your dad’s favourite brand of beer that finally brought out a bolder tasting summer brew; familiar, reliable and now interesting enough for you to accept that you will one day die. Or something.

It’s an awesome game despite hugging the trends of hero shooters and battle royale. If you’re someone coming back to the Call of Duty scene it can be unrecognizable due to the amount of stuffs that changed and got added. Unlocking secret camos for your favorite guns take time yet feels worth it when it evolves into something crazy the more kills you get. Hidden Easter eggs also bear some weight as you get cool stuffs to help in the zombie-killing journey.

While it's nice to see Treyarch "change-up" the formula, in the largest quotations possible, this is still a limp-wristed attempt. It's a pathetic husk of the once-great Call of Duty series that fails to be worth the money or time.

Even with a new battle royale to play, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 still feels like a game too shackled by its conventions to offer much more than a small step forward.
