The new catching mechanics have brought an important aspect of the Pokémon series to life, and by keeping the game generation one specific, it'll help to ease the more stubborn fans into a change that could be beneficial to future games. While apprehension is understandable, the changes are enjoyable, and the nostalgia Kanto induces ensures the games are one of the best adventures on the Nintendo Switch this year.
This trip to Kanto is more than just a return: Game Freak and the Pokémon Company are finally taking their first small steps into the future and making Pokémon more open, lively and modern. This is the way to go!

Despite notionally being a remake of Yellow, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! is actually packed full of new features and quality of life improvements.
Pokémon Let’s Go has been designed with some clear key phrases in mind: “streamlined gameplay,” “capture focused,” and “primarily TV-based.” It nails these points precisely but takes little time to consider any needs outside of them. What this has resulted in is a game that I feel would be an excellent point for a casual gamer to enter into the series and have a blast, or to introduce a young gamer into the world of Pokémon. However, it offers the more experienced gamer little more than some nostalgia, and such gamers may be better off holding on for a hopefully more challenging experience with the new core game next year.
Pokémon Let’s Go is as deep as Pokémon games come.
For veteran players, just experiencing the original games one more time in a brand new way is enough to put a smile on your face and reawakening that inner child. Playing along with a newcomer or first-timer makes it even more inviting and enjoyable, reminding you why you fell with love with Pocket Monsters in the first place.
With more than 800 Pokémon scurrying around in tall grass and hundreds of moves to consider in battle, it’s easy to forget how daunting the Pokémon series can be for newcomers. That makes Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! the perfect adventure for those that want to explore the Kanto region for the first time, resulting in a game that’s for everyone – whatever your age.
Despite skepticism, fans of the first hour should take a look at the spin-off, because the world of Kanto is and still is the best Pokemon world!

Pokémon Let’s GO is a modernised version of the original Pokémon we know and love.
Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! represent both the series’ oldest and newest generations of titles. For everything the game takes away from the equation, it tries something new — and it’s these additions and improvements that make the game addicting and enjoyable.
Pokémon: Let's Go is an interesting spin-off of the popular franchise. Not only show us how good a Pokémon game can be in the new Nintendo hybrid, but also show us what kind of graphic fidelity we can expect when the newest generation lands on Switch.

Returning to a rejuvenated Kanto with the new graphic section is as engaging as ever and its mechanics, despite its simplicity, confirm the soundness and effectiveness of a formula that may not confer the best RPG in history, but one of the most fun. The novelties are interesting, although few. The proposal is very enjoyable no matter how old you are in the saga, however its simplification is excessive and its reason for being, observing the previous trajectory of the remakes in the saga, it seems to be a mere promotion of Pokémon Go.

Pokémon Let´s Go is a title that has carried out a somewhat risky action, which is to change a dynamic that has been running in its more than 22 years of franchise, whether or not it succeeds with new pokemon and a new region depends on the time and of the success of this title. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Pokemon: Let’s Go! Eevee and thought it was a great way to take players back to the Kanto region and experience a re-imagining of one of my favourite Pokemon games of the past. Even though at it’s core it is a remake, it still brings plenty of fresh ideas and new gameplay mechanics with it’s new capture system and the ability to interact with the Pokemon directly on the map. I still can’t believe how visually great the game looks and it still wows me every time I turn it on to play. As a first entry made solely for the Nintendo Switch it has me really excited to see what Game Freak are cooking up for next year’s core Pokemon title.
Pokemon: Let's Go offers a new and exciting adventure while the Poke Ball Plus controller is one of the coolest devices that I've played with in a long time.
Pokémon Let's Go Eevee holds true to the original Pokémon games but suffers from changes that would turn off hardcore Pokémon fans.
Nintendo and Game Freak have managed something quite special with Pokémon: Let's Go.
Pokemon Let's GO, Pikachu and Eevee might not be what fans were waiting for, but it's an excellent, well-balanced Pokemon adventure nontheless.
