There aren’t many great couch co-op games but Overcooked 2 is certainly one of them. Sure it may cause a few arguments and have you tearing your hair out at your fellow chef’s incompetence, but you’ll have so much fun playing this game you’ll never want to leave the kitchen. Buy it now, or forever regret it.

Overcooked 2 builds greatly upon the original with more ways to play and excellent cooperative or competitive options for up to four players.

Overcooked’s second course is nothing short of five-star cuisine.

Overcooked 2 takes everything you know and love about the first game and kicks it up a notch to make a more satisfying and plentiful sequel.

Overcooked 2 has made a big progress. The kitchens are much more imaginative and dynamic, and the brand new ability to throw food makes the pace of the game faster and funnier. Besides, the online support makes it possible to play with your friends even when you are not sitting side by side.

As fun as the original, Overcooked 2 is a better version thanks to subtle changes in gameplay but mainly the addition of online multiplayer. A must-have for friends!

Overcooked 2 serves up a great balance of hilarious chaos and strategy alongside meaningful improvements over its predecessor. The kitchens have more moving parts, the recipes are more varied, and the ability to throw ingredients fundamentally changes the arcade cooking formula. It's still ideal when played on the couch with friends, but solo play is much improved, and online support adds versatility.

Overcooked! 2 follows the good sequels' playbook perfectly: it's bigger, it has more multiplayer options, new dishes, more characters, more crazy restaurants... It's very similar to the first game and it can be seen as "more of the same", but all dismishes when you start to play and let go with its adictive gameplay: it's fun in its purest form.

An outstanding coop game that it's better than the original in almost every possible way, but still offers a short campaign and isn't a good single player experience.

Overcooked! 2 is everything I wanted from a sequel to one of the better couch co-op games out there with online multiplayer, varied levels, recipes that drive you mad, and more.

Though I had a few minor quibbles over Overcooked 2's garnishes, it's overall a delectable followup. At times, I wondered why Ghost Town didn't just release the new recipes and levels as DLC to its first title, but that doesn't detract from the delightful new challenges and the convenience of new features like online co-op.

Brimming with charm and immediately accessible – while still harbouring a degree of mastery if you put the time in – Ghost Town Games' sequel is impossible to dislike and again flies the flag proudly for the lost art of couch co-op gaming.

Overcooked 2 mostly sticks to a winning recipe. The clarity and simplicity of the first game has been muddled a bit – some of the new recipes and kitchens are a touch too complex for their own good – but the addition of online play makes up for a lot. If you're new to this series, I suggest you check out the near-perfect original Overcooked to start, but if you're an existing fan hungry for more, Overcooked 2 is a tasty second helping.

Overcooked 2 is a lot more of the same, but it's a well-rounded sequel that improves on its established gameplay with small, clever refinements across the board. Add to that new online multiplayer support, a quick-fix Arcade mode and more devious kitchens to conquer, and Overcooked 2 is a perfect choice for your next co-operative craving.

Overcooked 2 is one of the most enjoyable, fun and tender games on the market right now. Since it's a remarkable improvement from the first game in the series, in a mechanics, aesthetic and gameplay modes, this is one of those party games that should be part of your collection. A must-have for every Friday night party with friends!

Its obvious caricatures aside, Overcooked 2 manages, above all else, to feel like working an actual busy restaurant job – you slave away for what feels like an eternity of non-stop, fast-paced work, certain you're always miles behind where you should be, but then you count the tips at the end of the night and think “You know what? Not too bad.” In that respect and many others, Overcooked 2 is a delightful follow-up where each consecutive levels feels either completely satisfying or enticingly challenging.

Playing Overcooked 2, it's evident that Ghost Games understood what worked and what didn't in the original. New mechanics feel like an evolution of core gameplay rather than the likes of a DLC pack that adds a couple new chefs or kitchens. Even new recipes like different varieties of sushi feel fun and fresh, with different components that need to be left raw or cooked.

Overcooked! 2 may not feel like a fully realized sequel, feeling mostly like more of the same with just a dash of new mechanics and online gameplay, but I suspect that's enough for most fans of the original game. I'm certainly not burnt out just yet.
