It's obvious how much rage-tinted joy can be conjured from out Ghost Town Games' quirky set-up of cooking up meals, together with a sprinkling of simulation-style managing of one's kitchen workspace.

Overcooked! 2 builds up on the original game and improves the overall art style while bringing a new online multiplayer component, thus improving the overall experience. This could have been done without scaling back the difficulty and challenge level of the game, which along with some new but rather unnecessary features make this sequel a mixed bag when it comes to the improvements over the original.

Great game design wise and play ability wise with a cute story to go along with it. It has the right kind of balance of being both easy to play and challenging at the same time. It really makes you think. The sequel is great for those who want to get into the series and you don't need to have played the first to get into it. Overall a solid solid game.

Overcooked 2 is better than the first game, largely thanks to the addition of online multiplayer and the ability to throw ingredients, but it can still be improved.

Overcooked 2 is more like an expansion of the original game than a real sequel. It has a ton of new content and levels, but the gameplay remains barely intact, which means that the main pros and cons of its predecessor are still here. If you liked the original Overcooked, you will love this sequel; but if you don't, well, this game simply doesn't have anything new to make you fall in love with it.

Overcooked is the sort of game that inspires everyone to channel their inner Gordon Ramsay, and its chaotic sequel is no exception. It has notable improvements, from throwing and catching food to some ludicrous and creative levels.

The original Overcooked is a cooperative masterpiece and this sequel simply tried a little too hard.

Overcooked 2 is just about the perfect couch co-op game. Have a partner or even a few friends to play with and you'll find relationships destroyed or strengthened in a matter of minutes. Play the game on your own, however, and the multi-tasking, meal-making coordination required for later levels can start to make it feel like a bit of a slog. So do yourself a favour and ensure you have a partner when playing Overcooked! 2 and you'll soon be having the time of your life, Gordon Ramsay-ing it up in no time.

All-in-all, a second portion of Overcooked‘s co-op insanity was exactly what I was looking for. As they say though, variety is the spice of life, and I think Overcooked 2 could have used just a bit more of that: variety. Still, the resulting sequel isn't bad by any means and will absolutely fill you up if you're looking for precisely more of what the original had to offer. If Ghost Town Games were to go back for a third romp in the kitchen though, I'd love to see a few new things seasoned in next time around.

Overcooked 2 is still one of the best local co-op experiences to make your friends hate you. The sequel plays it safe, though, with few overall improvements apart from an online mode and a throwing mechanic. Add to that the inconsistent difficulty, which ranges from ridiculously easy to punishingly tough, and you have a game that is familiar but doesn't push the envelope as much as you may have hoped for a sequel.

A good sequel of the first Overcooked, with more contents and more fun, thanks to the online mode.

Overcooked 2 offers what we all wanted; an online cooperative, new recipes and many really imaginative scenarios. A perfect title to play with. Its low difficulty may discourage the more seasoned, but it's still a fun title to play.

Overcooked 2 much like its predecessor is a fun and chaotic experience that truly excels when played with a group. While you might argue this is just more of the same, there are enough tweaks and changes to the formula that help keep things fresh for returning players. A hard recommendation if you’re looking to operate your own kitchen, but gather some friends and you’ll be hard pressed finding a more exciting co-operative time on Switch.

Overcooked! 2 then, whilst not a revolutionary leap from the first is still as madcap and downright ridiculous as its predecessor and then some. It’s still hilarious to play with friends and adds enough fresh elements and ideas to keep ardent fans delighted. It’s still hard as nails in some parts but the gentle easing in of new mechanics ensures you’re always ready for what’s to come. It’s now replaced Overcooked! on the top of our multiplayer game night lists, and if that isn’t high praise I don’t know what is.

'Overcooked 2' is still the fun, chaotic multiplayer cooking experience. For those returning to the game, it may feel more like an expansion upon the first, but new players are welcomed and can find the game easily adaptable.

Overcooked 2 brings to the table new recipes and fresh new kitchen’s to test you and your group’s mettle. Overcooked 2’s big draw is in it’s multiplayer so buyer beware if you’re planning to play alone. As I said in my review of the first game, “…be aware that you won’t find nearly as much fun to be had unless you bring together a group who will play in your living room; or kitchen; I’m not one to judge.” This time around though, you can hop into other people’s living rooms through the wonders of the internet. And yes, I’m still not one to judge where you play. But hey, the couch is more comfortable than a kitchen counter, just sayin’.
