Team Sonic Racing Reviews
Team Sonic Racing is good, but it's a step down from Sumo Digital's previous kart racers.
Team Sonic Racing is an entertaining arcade racing game. It is an above-average racing title that you will enjoy especially with friends. We can definitely recommend this one, but for longer gaming sessions, maybe look somewhere else.

On the whole, I definitely had a lot of fun with Team Sonic Racing. Graphically and sound technically I was really convinced. Unfortunately, as a switch player, I had to lose a bit during the performance. Team Sonic Racing is a solid, arcadic funracer and, despite some criticism, cuts a good figure. The adventure mode, which unfortunately didn't go down so well with me, doesn't offer a profound story, but crisp challenges and some variety. But Sega: The technology and the concept are great, but please take the "Sega All-Stars" on board again next time. Finally, I can only warmly recommend PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC gamers - even switch owners can access it courageously, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still the undisputed front-runner here.

Team Sonic Racing is one of the best kart racers you can get, outside of the obvious Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It’s a brilliant entry in the genre, and a fantastic effort from Sumo Digital. While the exclusion of classic SEGA characters outside of the Sonic franchise is a bit of a let-down, this is the best Sonic racer money can buy.
Driving is fun, working together as a team is exciting, but the interesting ideas only really click after hours of training and learning - which might be a road too long for most people. Furthermore, compared to its strong predecessors, Team Sonic Racing lacks the charm of the SEGA All-Stars brand. This time, it's Sonic & Friends only - a premise much less creative and, and therefore much less appealing.

Team Sonic Racing is yet another fantastic kart-racer from Sumo Digital and SEGA.
As a full title, I would recommend Team Sonic Racing as a suitable counterpart to the Mario Kart games. It may not have the same pedigree as that series, but remember: Sonic and Mario are always going to be competitive.
Team Sonic Racing is an enjoyable Kart Racer that manages to stand out against even the best of its competition. While it has some deep flaws with connectivity and frame rate while online, and a useless ranked system, it delivers one of the greatest single-player experiences in the genre. An experience that can be the exact same with up to three other local players too. The game has a wonderful soundtrack, great designs, and manages to be one of the most unique games out there in terms on teamwork mechanics. It reminds me of Splatoon 2 in many ways, but as its racing counterpart.
GOOD - Team Sonic Racing is a fun alternative to other competitive racers on the Switch. It features bright and detailed graphics, easy to learn controls, and a cool team-based approach to racing not seen in other titles. It seems a little sparse on tracks and characters, but perhaps we’re just spoiled by MK8 Deluxe. It’s well worth the $40 asking price!
Despite the smaller scope compared to the latest racing games featuring the “blue blur”, Team Sonic Racing offers a deep and fun twist to the arcade kart/racing genre, with some neat coop mechanics and a solid title overall.

With its twenty-one tracks, multiple voice-over languages, interesting gameplay mechanics, and colourful locations, Team Sonic Racing is by far one of, if not THE best Kart-based racing game of the generation. When you’re not playing the long story mode, which is fully voiced with an actual story, you’ll be spending your hard-earned Credits on car upgrades or racing friends and strangers for street cred. The only issue I had was the aggressive butt-hurt AI who can’t stand it when I’m way out in front, launching lots of offensive abilities my way and trying to knock me out of the competition. However, I don’t give in to losers, I picked myself up and showed them who’s boss!
If as a fan of Sonic you are worried that Team Sonic Racing isn't a good game, you are totally wrong. Just don't expect something extraordinary, the game carries some mistakes and bugs but still it goes forward in its direction regardless.

“Sonic Team Racing is a fun, stylish, content packed game with countless hours of family fun”
Unless you’re nitpicking, there’s nothing notably wrong with Team Sonic Racing, it’s totally serviceable and, yes, again, fun. There’s just nothing wildly exciting about it, either.
Team Sonic Racing isn't without its minor blemishes, but when it comes to entertaining kart racing experiences, it's no wonder why this hedgehog manages to cross the finish line with flying colors.
As a goofy party game sure to bring people together around the TV – or the Switch – Team Sonic Racing is an enjoyable meat-and-potatoes kart racer. It's no Mario Kart 8, but was it ever going to be?
Team Sonic Racing got a really good details in arcade racing genre. Team-based mechanics very good and useful. Also soundtracks are amazing!

Team Sonic Racing is an absolute blast for all ages alike and will more than play its part in the kart racer revival.
Team Sonic Racing is a competent and fun arcade racer, with good and well-executed ideas --it's less splendid than others in its same genre, too, and even than others in its same series.

Team Sonic Racing does not do anything that is revolutionary, but the single-player mode is a significant improvement on previous Sumo Digital racing titles, since the teamwork and customisation options add quite a bit of depth. The result is clearly meant to promote local multiplayer, but players can still have lots of fun solo. Team Sonic Racing definitely packs enough entertainment in to be worth the cost of entry.
