There is nothing that stands out more in Call of Duty 2019 than its campaign. The excellent use of some characters, the changes based on realism and the accurate pace guarantee one of the best stories in a shooter. Modern Warfare can deliver fun in a complete package, but still has small details in the cooperative mode and has several adjustments to make in the competitive mode, even with some news and changes.

Call of Duty Strikes again. Return to modern era is good choice. Multiplayer is fun, but singleplayer campaign too short.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is another fantastic shooter from Infinity Ward, but it's still just a Call of Duty game. If you're a fan of the heights of the franchise, you're sure to have a great time. However, for those hoping for a more daring and innovative leap, there's not much new to see here.

As a whole, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare hits all the right marks. The campaign is well done, with some very memorable moments and a decent overall story that'll overshadow some of the weaker enemies and vanilla ending. The multiplayer is as reliable as before, and the new modes provide some fresh fun, while true cross-play automatically makes it the best entry in the series due to the expanded player base. Wrapped in a presentation that provides a good preview of what a next-generation entry could look like, Modern Warfare is a very good entry for series fans who are willing to overlook the currently undercooked Spec Ops mode.

The graphics, particularly lighting and shadow effects, have come a long way and really show up last year's Black Ops 4. Crucially, every weapon is exhilarating to fire, bolstered by fantastic animation and sound design, and during frenetic firefights that audio has to be heard to be believed. It's a shame that the multiplayer remains underwhelming but the campaign is outstanding.

Modern Warfare makes you love the franchise all over again. With a great campaign and an excellent multiplayer to boot this is the most fun you'll have with a shooter all year. It's a shame the Spec Ops mode doesn't live up to the hype.

It's easy to pick apart these components when isolated, but where does Modern Warfare stand among other Call of Duty games as a whole? It's certainly the best Call of Duty game we've received in years, but exactly where it falls will depend on how favorably you view the older games and how influenced you are by nostalgia. Its campaign is exemplary, and even if people have inevitable complaints and suggestions about the multiplayer mode, it feels like the culmination of what people have been asking for since the days of wall-running and questionable gadgets. One thing is clear though: Modern Warfare definitely has the potential to be people's favorite Call of Duty game, but the games-as-a-service model will mean its up to Infinity Ward and Activision to make sure that potential is realized in the coming months.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is undeniably one of the greatest FPS games ever to come out on the market and its journey will continue with the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 later this year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare marks a celebratory return to form for Infinity Ward and Activision, as it successfully pumps new blood into this classic franchise. While the single-player campaign could have been longer for my money's worth, I'm content with the overly stylized storytelling, over-the-top, yet realistic visuals and most of all - fun gameplay.

Modern Warfare is the title Call of Duty Series needed to regain the identity it had lost in recent years. With a raw campaign told through the eyes of an extremely well-characterized cast, a multiplayer that finally takes us back to the battlefields of modern conflict and a co-op mode that can be faced with friends both online and locally, Modern Warfare brings back the brand to the Olympus of shooters.

Modern Warfare’s re-envisioned take on realistic combat may not be for everyone, but it establishes a great foundation for something special and has the potential to eventually get there. The campaign delivers a short but provocative story coupled with some spectacular action sequences, while the multiplayer brings a broad range of fresh content and options that are bound to keep FPS fans hooked.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a return to the series roots along with the lessons learned from over two decades of being a mega franchise. Old school fans of the original trilogy will enjoy it for the nostalgia while new fans will be introduced to a true military shooter.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is enjoyable, but it is not a must play title. Despite gorgeous visuals, it suffers narratively and features ageing gameplay that simply pales in comparison to the enhancements the series has culminated with in Black Ops 4.

While the campaign never goes for as long as we want it to, the online modes are everything hardcore Call of Duty fans could want and the Modern Warfare timeline is a welcome return to the franchise.

After a long epic in front of the screen that cost me the whole weekend, I can only notice one thing: the real COD is back. I haven't played a franchise title for years with a single player campaign so immersive and exciting that I think it's a good starting point for what could be a new trilogy. The multiplayer is no shortage Modern Warfare is promoted with honors. Congratulations Infinity Ward! Let a new era of prosperity begin for the series!
