Outside of Diablo III this is probably the best action-RPG currently available anywhere. Do not miss out on this exemplary title. It is a shame that the new Torchlight is not a continuation of the formula, but considering the quality of the first two games I will give anything bearing the namesake a shot.

Torchlight II is as fun on the Switch as it was back when it launched on PCs seven years ago.  The controls on the Switch feel pretty good and eased my worries about transitioning from PC to console.  While a lot of the game is basically fighting enemies, collecting loot, and repeat, if you're into games like the Diablo series you should enjoy Torchlight II, and at a third of the price of Diablo III (at least on the Switch), Torchlight II is a great alternative.

Torchlight II is an older title that feels its age at times. Nevertheless, it remains a solid example of its genre and will keep you occupied for hours on end. Multiplayer, an expansive upgrade system, and a sea of worthwhile loot make up for the repetitive gameplay.

Seven years after its initial release, Torchlight 2 finally graces the console generation and proves that you don't have to have Diablo in your title to make an impact. Torchlight 2 is a near-perfect dungeon crawler that no fan of the genre can afford to miss.

I lost hours and days to this game with a blink. Whether you’re looking for a new ARPG, or just a little more time with an old favorite, Torchlight 2 won’t let you down.

Torchlight 2, an action RPG and dungeon crawler from a previous generation, joins the Nintendo Switch catalogue in an example of how a conversion work should be handled: a register of excellence, where everything has been marvelously handled. The game may not be entirely groundbreaking but that becomes less relevant in the face its content, exploration, customization possibilities and how well it fits in the Switch format.

Torchlight is a good portage of a still good game, and it's great to play it everywhere on your Switch. But unfortunately, it lacks of a local multiplayer mode on one console.

A great port of a fantastic game, Torchlight 2 still holds up as a great example of an ARPG dungeon-crawler that is unfortunately plagued by some annoying bugs and control scheme limitations

Genre veterans may want to pause and think before buying, as there isn’t a whole lot here you haven’t seen before, but it’s tough to argue that you won’t enjoy the time you spend with this one.

At the risk of sounding overly infatuated, I cannot begin to understand how the hell Torchlight II has aged so well. The art style, combat mechanics, and even loot drop loop are so finely tuned that it feels like the game fits in as well now as it did, seven years ago. With the obvious exception of the big boys over at Blizzard, the argument could be made that this is the best dungeon crawler on current generation consoles. Factor in the price tag of a mere $20, and this becomes an instant must buy. Just do yourself a favor and download this game. You can thank me later. …Don't worry. I'll wait.

Torchlight II is a great dungeon crawler on Switch even if it doesn't include couch co-op functionality.

If you had even the slightest interest in the original Torchlight, or if you're tired of Diablo III but are still itching for some more loot-grabbing RPG action, Torchlight II is well worth the asking price.

When compared with the plentiful amount of action-RPGs already on the Nintendo Switch Torchlight II can seem like a bit of an afterthought. But while its story has a poor endgame, it offers a cute aesthetic with plenty of charm. Panic Button has done a great job once again with porting, and those new to the genre will find plenty to entertain at a fair price.

Torchlight II was a great action RPG back in 2012 and it still remains it to this day.

The Switch port of Torchlight 2 is tremendous, however the lack of simple, local co-op multiplayer is slightly disappointing

Overall, Torchlight II on the Switch is an excellent addition to its library of fun, multiplayer-oriented games for both new fans and those wanting to return to the world of Vilderan after an extended absence.

Overall the Nintendo Switch version of Torchlight II is excellent. With full multiplayer support, both local and online, unique pets based on your console of choice and so many quality of life updates geared towards console players, Torchlight II is an ARPG worth picking up. If your a console player who loves ARPG's or are interested in ARPG's or you just love Torchlight II, I suggest taking a look at one of the best ARPG's on the market.

As it stands however, Torchlight II, a good game, stays a good game but some key features feel missing in the transition to console in the seven years since the initial release.

Torchlight 2 is a quality port that took time in making its way to consoles. It feels like a little too late now, but this doesn't mean it is not a good action RPG. Those who are on the lookout for something new that can satisfy their Diablo thirst can have a good time with this sequel.
