The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition is something of a technical marvel on the Switch. Through what seems like techno-black magic, CD Projekt Red and Saber Interactive have ported one of the generations best games with smart compromises made to deliver the full experience.
It is a truly impressive technical feat that a developer was able to get The Witcher 3 onto the Nintendo Switch in a working state at all. That doesn't necessarily mean that the port should have happened though.
The Witcher 3 on the Nintendo Switch, despite its many optimizations, remains a technical masterpiece considering the console's limitations. Playing in handheld is downright magical and masks some of its visual shortcomings. Well worth giving it a shot, even if you've already experienced the game elsewhere.

Long-time Witcher fans will have a blast reliving their adventures on the go, while those who have yet to step into the hunting boots, luscious locks and scruffed beard of Geralt of Rivia, have the perfect opportunity to get stuck in.

I have adored my time with Witcher 3 on Switch. It’s not the prettiest version, but it retains everything that made the game special. Now there is potential for a whole new audience to fall in love with the franchise. Perhaps some are like me, replaying the game for the third time, and just loving that the game is now portable. Whatever the reason may be, Witcher 3 on Switch is a technical achievement. I’d have never expected Witcher 3 ported to the Switch, but here we are and it’s damn impressive.

The Witcher 3 on Switch is clearly the least visually impressive version of a great game, but it's one of the greatest RPGs ever, now made portable, and that's just too cool to miss.
In the end, it all boils down to the player. If you are looking for a great RPG to sink your teeth into, The Witcher 3 is an automatic recommend. What is not an automatic recommend is if you already own an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or a PC that can run games well.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is a fantastic addition to the Switch RPG line-up. It's visual may have been scaled down but it's no less fantastic of a game.
