Doraemon Story of Seasons brings the best of the long running Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons formula together with a true cultural icon of Japan. It's rare that the Doraemon video games make their way out west, but this one works so well as a Story of Seasons title that if it is your introduction to Doraemon, you're in for a treat.

undefined.Doraemon: Story of Seasons combines the two series into a wonderful new experience on Switch. There's nothing here that breaks the mold, but that is the charm of Story of Seasons: it feels comfortable and easy to get into, and this iteration definitely goes out of its way to help you ease into the gameplay. If you can get through the excruciatingly long introduction, this is a well polished, beautifully-drawn version of Story of Seasons that anyone familiar with the series will love.

Doraemon: Story of Seasons is beautifully executed, and it’s one of the most engaging Story of Seasons games I’ve ever played. The story is great and progresses without overly excessive downtime in between major events, and there’s no shortage of things to do to keep you entertained.

While maybe straying a bit too close to older games in the series, Doraemon Story of Seasons still delivers a charming role-playing farm experience with a gorgeous aesthetic and satisfying gameplay loop

Doraemon and farming? Sign me up! Doraemon: Story of Seasons adds a fresh take on the farming series with the addition of characters from the popular Japanese manga and anime. The introductory tutorial is a bit of a slog and the game admittedly has a slow deliberate pace as do most farming games. Nevertheless, it has lots of stuff for you to do while oozing plenty of charm. Give it a shot if you love Doraemon and farming games to boot.

Doraemon: Story of Seasons is a relaxing and charming farm-life game that suffers from a painfully slow start. Once you get through the early content though, it’s a fun and easy-going game that’s perfect for unwinding.

Despite the absence of action that I’m so familiar with from other games, this game is still very engaging enough for me to get sucked into its micromanagement. However, playing this on the PlayStation 4, I felt a bit awkward. I didn’t really think this was the type of game you sit on the couch and boot up on your home console. This was originally a Nintendo Switch game. If you can get the Switch version, then I recommend going for a more portable alternative.

Doraemon: Story of Seasons is a good crossover between the cosmic cat franchise and the developers of the Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons saga. We will not see anything that we have not seen already, and possibly at the farm management level it is below the competition, but a very careful artistic style and the possibility of playing with Nobita's license and his own make a game that little by little that hooks us will give us many hours of fun.

There is a lot to like about Doreamon: Story of Seasons; the characters and the world they live in are well defined and a joy to experience. However, the game doesn’t push the genre forward in any way, and even takes the odd step back. But fans of the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons franchise will definitely have a great time, as will fans of the anime.

Doraemon: Story of Seasons is an enchanting, relaxing romp through a world that is so much simpler than ours. With gorgeous visuals and a never-ending list of things to do, it's unlikely that you'll get bored while playing it. While its slow-pace might turn off some, it's incredibly welcome to play a game where the fate of the world isn't at stake, and you can instead just sit down and decide what plants you might want to grow for the upcoming year.
