But clunky actions and broken quests aside, it's still nearly impossible to not get hooked on Cyberpunk 2077 and, more specifically, on Night City. I've completed quests that made me physically uncomfortable and yearn for justice or vengeance alongside the affected characters, and I've crafted my version of V into exactly the kind of character I'd want with the reassuring knowledge that there will always be an option that fits my preferences. The plentiful possibilities and outcomes beg for multiple playthroughs, and I'm happy to oblige later after a break from Night City and after things have been cleaned up a bit.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 really the masterpiece we expected? The answer can only be positive. Cd Projekt RED's sci-fi and dystopian experience is one of the best productions of the generation, as well as one of the best Action-RPGs ever.

Cyberpunk 2077 has most of the makings of a great open world RPG but an avalanche of bugs and crashes prevent most of this potential from shining through the grime.

Looking back at Cyberpunk 2077’s grueling multi-year development and catastrophic post-launch, a month and change after its release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

One of the best written games you'll ever play, but also pretty Cluttered and Messy.

That being said, there is a lot to like here as well. Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredibly vibrant world, both visually and in its various interactions. Whether I was petting an animal, taking the time to read through billboards or finding a ton of quests to spend my time on, Night City was a thoroughly engaging virtual world. That being said, it’s still an imperfect world in a handful of minor but certainly noticeable ways. Though I was excited for the original release of Cyberpunk 2077, I suspect my experience benefitted from waiting to play. I’m glad I finally got the opportunity to do so.

Cyberpunk 2077 finally feels at home on PS5, but remains a cautionary tale rather than a comeback story.

I enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077. The story told and moreover the world it built was truly interesting. I’d certainly recommend playing it, but wish it wasn’t held back by gameplay and technical issues, even if it's still fun despite these. I’m glad I waited for the 1.5 update, as it does sound that this is a rather better experience than the one on launch.

Cyberpunk 2077's ultimate console version reaffirms the splendid storytelling, exceptional city-building and varied gameplay of the original game, while also being more polished, enriched and finally featuring performance and visuals worthy of new consoles. There is no shortage of smears and residual issues, but it still stands as an excellent first-person RPG, set in a fascinating retro-sci-fi world full of things to do and compelling stories to live. Definitely a must-have.

I am not going to call this a commendable effort, because honestly, this is how Cyberpunk 2077 should have been released in the first place. Sadly, committing to last-gen platforms at first, combined with fan demand, death threats, and the COVID-19 pandemic, resulted in a botched version of a great game that left a horrendous first impression. That is not the case with this PS5 version. This is how Cyberpunk 2077 should be played.

When you contemplate the amazing story and world, the wonderful gameplay, expressive environments, and amazing graphics, then your eyes turn to the weak world, and the design of the stages contradicting the identity of the game, the absence of valuable story background in the characters and the weak musical performance, you wonder to yourself amid mixed feelings about the game .. What is it Even? Why is their this disparity and what is this fall into the negatives points that the studio excelled in before, And you'll find that Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that, like many others, has fallen into a victim due to bad management decisions, and while it could have become an icon alongside The Witcher, it stood in the middle with very creative aspects and hard-to-overlook negatives.

Putting all of the bad business decisions to one side, we are left with a great game that I urge people to experience and, a year since release, most of the main bugs have been cleaned up. The main story is on the short side and feels rushed, and once levelled up to a certain point, everything becomes a little too easy. The side missions are where the fun resides and taking time to explore the huge open world, getting to know the history of the city and the key inhabitants is the most rewarding quality about Cyberpunk 2077. The whole piece showcases a gritty life in the underworld with over the top violence but also eases the tone with moments of utterly insane fetch quests. Cyberpunk 2077 might have taken a year to get to a decent state but has been one of the most fun games I’ve played in the last 12 months, warts and all.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a phenomenal game that initially lost a lot of credibility due to the unfathomable tally of issues that occurred when it arrived.

Nice to look at, only OK to play. If you can ignore all the broken promises, and the lack of any real RPG gameplay, there's a halfway-decent FPS game here. If, on the other hand, you buy this game expecting it to be the sweeping, branching-narrative RPG that was advertised, you're gonna be disappointed.

Cyberpunk 2077 is, in all regards, a brilliant RPG. It offers everything you want but comes short in a few areas. The AI is dumber than a stump and police spawns are all over the place. Aside from that, the game would be near perfect if it wasn't for the many bugs and crashes you will encounter during playing. The game was released too soon and unfortunately, it's painfully obvious.

Cyberpunk 2077 ultimately fails to deliver on most of the promises made during the lead up to its launch, but what it does deliver on is really spectacular. It’s one of the strongest RPG experiences in this kind of setting, with killer characters and a thoroughly enjoyable suite of side quests that’s easy to love in spite of its faults.

CD Projekt RED did something incredible. They managed to create the game that you wholeheartedly wish to keep playing in spite of all the bugs, broken mechanics and bland gameplay. Cyberpunk 2077 was saved by its narration. Night City feels alive thanks to its breathtaking design, well-developed characters and multi-layered quests. Although it is not the messiah that we were promised, it still is a good game.

Unless you have the absolute highest-end PC, you won't yet get to experience Cyberpunk 2077 to its fullest potential. What’s more drastic is that the console versions of the game have concerning amounts of glitches, to the point where it's more appropriate to be described as an incomplete product on arrival. Of course, if these technical shenanigans weren’t an eyesore, it would have been on the level of pleasing many types of gamers out there. For now, you should probably stay away from attempting to play the console versions.

Firstly, read the whole review to draw safer conclusions. Secondly, those of you who have a good PC, although you will not play the next polished diamond in the industry, will at least be able to enjoy it to the fullest extent possible. Those of you who have a PS5 and Xbox Series X expect the big next-gen patch to come sometime in 2021. Those of you who have a PS4 and Xbox One, ignore it for now. Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 is, in its backbone, a very good game, but it was not ready at all. CD Projekt RED just shot itself in the leg...
