Dead Rising 3 is easily the best exclusive launch title for the Xbox One. It manages to do something that other zombie games haven't, and that's actually convey a sense of an overwhelming threat. It's dumb fun, but it's fun nonetheless.

Overall, Dead Rising 3 is a lot of fun, with a 13-16 hour campaign enhanced by replayability due to the sheer amount of ways you can approach your time in Los Perdidos. From the very outset there are different play-styles offered up, including co-op if you fancy it: Capcom Vancouver want this to be your experience, and while it does stutter from time to time, this is a game well worth playing, so long as you can stomach the B-movie acting and gore.

A better version of an already good game, Dead Rising 3 on PC is as close to the game's reveal trailer as we'll get.

Dead Rising 3 provides plenty of zombie killing fun and is a great game to pick up if you bought an Xbox One. Newcomers to the series will find an incredibly fun game with tons of replay value and co-op fun. Returning fans will find the same thing but may be turned off a bit due to the fact that the core game hasn't really changed all that much.  My opinion as a huge fan of the Dead Rising games? Don't fix what isn't broken.

Like a shuffling zombie with its eye on a hunk of meat, Capcom has stayed the path, offering a juiced-up Dead Rising experience that benefits from the next-gen hardware's added horsepower.

Dead Rising 3 will likely go down as one of the quintessentially "good" launch titles seen when a new console releases. It's an exclusive title with a big open world and tons of zombies that demonstrates the power of the next gen console well.

Like its predecessors, Dead Rising 3 offers good, dumb, fun, with just enough story and structure to keep you moving forward and enough opportunities for zany antics to maintain your amusement throughout.

The game's scope, over-the-top weapons and surprisingly enjoyable story all trump the tedious mission slogs and sluggish controls.  The idea of charging headfirst into a slow marching horde of 300 zombies with a flaming sword is still ridiculous and satisfying.

If I want serious adult drama, I'll watch The Walking Dead. But for sheer, unadulterated fun, Dead Rising 3 has my thumbs, eyes, brain and heart. Or, as a zombie would call it, a well-balanced breakfast.

Dead Rising 3 is an ambitious and frequently giddy open world brawler that allows players to indulge their silly side while creatively dispatching the undead. The story is a let-down and the missions become tedious, but the sandbox play here is magnificent, despite some technical overreaching.

Enjoy the exaggerated, disproportionate, inordinate carnage of Dead Rising 3. The new Capcom title leaves the narrative permanently in the background and focuses all on the dynamics of free-roaming. The missions tend to look a bit alike, a bit of repetition makes its way after a few hours, but basically what matters is simply experimenting with new, sadistic ways to dent that wall of rancid flesh that runs through the streets of Los Perdidos. Dead Rising 3 arrives with a guessed structure and a co-op mode that entice you to devote yourself to the massacre, discovering the absurd combinations of weapons and vehicles invented by the development team. It will not be one of those experiences that remain in your heart, but certainly the game accompanies the launch of Xbox One in a more than dignified way, offering itself as a solid and fun pastime, not recommended only for those who really do not digest the philosophy of sandboxes.

Capcom Vancouver has therefore given the Xbox One something that PS4 does not have right now: a strong triple-A exclusive. Dead Rising 3 dares you to dream about high the bar can be set for the open world game during this generation on a technical and creative level, even with its obvious flaws in mission design. Not bad for a launch title.

Dead Rising 3 is a step forward for the series as it finally finds the confidence to expand its setting, which is mostly down to better hardware being available. Hopefully the focus going forward can be put on fleshing out more of its mechanics and not just creating larger areas, like perhaps a more in-depth survivor posse system for example.

Overall, DR3 is fun game with awesome amounts of zombie smashing but it also has a bunch of annoying things which distract from the aforementioned smashing.

It doesn't do anything new and it doesn't feel next-gen but Dead Rising 3 is a solid and welcome return to gleeful, quirky zombie killing. Like the rotting corpses that populate its streets, Dead Rising 3 has a long life after it's finished. The game is one to which, amidst a barren forthcoming release schedule, you'll keep revisiting.

Dead Rising 3 is the essential Xbox One launch title: a rampant, ridiculous and riotous sandbox that delivers countless hours of unapologetic unrestrained fun. Rather than a pristine graphical showcase, it's a bountiful content-rich slaughter smorgasbord that encourages us to get our hands dirty in obscenely silly ways.

When it comes down to it, 'Dead Rising 3' is less difficult than the original two games, but significantly more entertaining. While it takes a while for the story to get moving due to the blandness of the main character, the twists and turns that await players in the third act of the game are extremely gratifying for any fans of the other 'Dead Rising' titles. Similar to the first two games, there are multiple endings as well, although the S rating (best ending) is much easier to achieve compared to previous games. If you are a fan of the zombie genre and picked up an Xbox One recently, don't hesitate to buy 'Dead Rising 3' as it should provide many hours of pure zombie entertainment.

Yes, Dead Rising 3 has occasional frame rate drop issues, especially when driving down a street packed with enemies or when the world is exploding around you; yet the action is so primitively fun and engaging that these details are relegated. Basically, if you are a fan of the series or are looking for a title full of black humor, funny situations and game mechanics that will make you the most prolific zombie destroyer in history, Dead Rising 3 cannot be missing from your launch library.
