Avengers is definitely a mixed bag. The game looks great, and does what it can to immerse you in the story as you take on the role of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. But a repetitive combat system and borderline broken online multiplayer, the core of the postgame, keeps me from saying anything beyond "I liked it."

Despite its criticalities, Marvel's Avengers is a game that managed to involve me and have a lot of fun, giving me many hours in the company of friends and my dear superheroes. For anyone who is a fan of the Avengers like myself, this is a game not to be missed, especially considering that over time, being one of those titles followed by the developers for at least two years after their release, numerous other heroes with related missions will be added. We leave each other in the hope that this project interwoven between Crystal Dynamics and Marvel can evolve and improve itself to the best of its possibilities, especially considering the mistakes made in this, although still very enjoyable, first introductory chapter.

Loot, be damned. A rougher than expected entrance for Marvel’s Avengers, much needs to be done to right this Helicarrier of a mess.

While the prospect of a multiplayer Avengers game is ripe with potential, Marvel’s Avengers is an experience stuck between two worlds. While its campaign is worth experiencing if you’re a fan, it’s hard to deny that the combat, gearing system, and presentation values are underbaked, leaving the core experience uninteresting and flat.

Originally revealed in early 2017, Marvel's Avengers was showcased right on time. The Avengers films were the hottest topic on the lips of all of society. Fans hoped that Crystal Dynamics could deliver an experience that mirrors the success of the films. While the foundation is promising, the core of the game is seriously lacking soul. Rendering an experience that isn't consistently attractive or personable.

Finally, we conclude that Marvel’s Avengers game is one of the most frustrating and weak experiences of recent times, offering a boring and unforgettable experience; It may seem glamorous in appearance, but the final experience is very superficial and repetitive, relying solely on the name and reputation of the Avengers franchise. Due to the service-oriented nature of the game, it is possible to improve it in the future, but at this time and in the current situation, we do not recommend the Marvel’s Avengers game experience at all.

A solid third person action title that could use a little bump in high quality content.

Usually GaaS titles have problems with story, but can offer fun endgame activities. In case of Avengers the story is great, but the endgame is lacking because of same-y environments, missions and bosses. But it's still a great start, especially because the combat system is fun and deep, and with future expansions the game will become much better.

Marvel’s Avengers feels like it has stolen ideas from other games only to implement them unsuccessfully. Level design is ordinary, and the missions are forgettable. The customisation saves the game, but with overpriced cosmetics, it is hard to justify the point of grinding. The gameplay is filled with glitches and bugs, making it hard for you to find any rhythm. Overall, Marvel’s Avengers is an average experience that you can find better elsewhere.

Avengers misses the mark of true perfection, but only just. It’s still phenomenal with one of the greatest combat systems out there. It’s the Avengers game I’d hoped I would get for the last decade. If you’re a Marvel fan, this is a must-have

A great campaign is pretty much the only thing that saves Marvel's Avengers from complete mediocrity.

Even the gameplay I’d seen praised for its promise ended up being a disappointment, with major performance problems and bugs worsening what would already be a below-average experience. I suspect that what happened is that the monetization and multiplayer grind proved so tedious and horrible for some players that everything else seemed better by way of comparison, leading many to treat the game’s underlying problems with kid gloves. Call it the “ugly friend” effect. Marvel’s Avengers has a decent story, though, even if it’s merely a cynical ploy to trick you into eventually paying.

Marvel's Avengers is at odds with itself every step of the way. Thanks to a great story that spotlights Kamala Khan as the heart and soul of this game there is enough to justify its existence. The multiplayer, however, is riddled with bugs, bad level design, and a lack of diverse content that needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.

"With its myriad design issues and lack of content at launch, it’s difficult to recommend Marvel’s Avengers. But this is a game that can only get better, which isn’t publisher apologia, it’s just an undeniable truth for any game that leans so heavily into a future of post-launch updates."

Pretty much perfectly encapsulates all the good, and the bad, of the MCU in a single package. Perfect for fans and anyone looking to collect teeth using a big green fist.

The first feeling when I started the game is that I am in front of something really great. As a Marvel fan I was amazed to see the various settings, but also those well-detailed characters. The thing that captivated me, however, is the quality of the script, thanks to a story that, although it may seem banal in some points, turns out to be very compelling, capable of attracting attention and literally making time fly.
