GameSpew's Reviews
The Assembly is the kind of story that will stick with you for a while after you’ve finished it, mulling things over in your head for the next few days
Graphically Maldita Castilla EX is beautiful; so much love and care was put into every pixel on the screen and the addition of scanlines create an almost perfect arcade experience
The game's levels expertly utilise Spy Chameleon's core mechanic to create challenging and diverse puzzles that require the player's full concentration
When you plan the flight, build the shuttle, finance the whole thing, and bring your crew back safely, you feel like a superhero.
At times some of [the dialogue choices] are just so ridiculous or inappropriate that they just have to be seen to be believed, adding some risqué humour to the proceedings that is sure to make you laugh out loud
Ultimately, [the] pluses are minor and did little to make my experience better or Daydreamer worth playing
If you’re looking for a challenging yet rewarding experience with an ample serving of humour, then 10 Second Ninja X comes highly recommended
These [solitaire] areas, the meat of the game, are where Pocket Card Jockey shines, as the timed matches are fast-paced and satisfyingly addictive, creating exciting tension while mostly rewarding prowess
The platforming on offer is solid, offering many classic genre tropes and is vaguely reminiscent of early Rayman titles
There is clearly a lot of effort by the development team suffused into the game’s story and it pays off when making way through its varied side-quests
Using full 3D models and a real-time system, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII’s combat boils down to a numbers game more than strategy
Crush Your Enemies is a great combination of depth and simplicity
Super Mutant Alien Assault has a lot to offer in terms of pure, unadulterated arcade action
Despite combat being competent and at times empowering, the game suffers severely from a sense of repetition
There's a decent variety of attack options on offer but it all ends up feeling just a bit too chaotic
This is almost certainly the fanboy in me talking but I Am Setsuna deserves more
The swinging is ironically the worst part of the game for me. Whilst the running and jumping can be overcome somewhat by accommodating their shortcomings by adapting your play-style, the swinging mechanic can’t be negotiated with
The learning curve takes a while to really master but due to the short burst nature of the missions, I never felt burned out or even frustrated
Song of the Deep is undoubtedly at its best when you’re out tackling the many puzzles and problems that stand in the way of story progression
Very quickly Tumblestone went from just any other casual puzzle game to the best puzzle game I've played in years
