GameGrin's Reviews

It currently costs just a couple of pounds on Steam, and so is worth a go if you want something to really get your teeth into. But if you aren't a total masochist, save it for the bus fare.

Head and shoulders above last year's version, Syndicate has refined the Assassin's Creed experience, but essentially it's another familiar entry to the series with several polished elements.

8 / 10.0 - LEGO Dimensions
Oct 28, 2015

LEGO Dimensions is the best LEGO game to date. It is just simply a joy to play and with the big franchises behind it, there is certainly a huge amount of longevity within, but only if you are willing to pay the price of admission. The move to the toys to life genre is a smart one for LEGO and with some of the available packs including Dr Who, Portal, Jurassic World, The Simpsons and with more on the way, it'll make any LEGO collector foam at the mouth and dive in, even if it's just for the toys. Still, with just the starter pack alone, you'll be in for a huge dimension jumping tale that is just a blast.

Not very varied, but if you're thirsty for G1 Transformers, you can't find a better brawler.

8.5 / 10.0 - Corpse of Discovery

A thought provoking homage to classic science fiction on procedurally generated worlds that is frustrating, pleasing and enjoyable all at once.

If you've been putting off a purchase to see how the complete package rates, then you should definitely get it. It might suffer a little from "Telltale False Choice" syndrome, but due to how emotionally invested you become with the kids at Blackwell Academy, I found myself actually feeling guilty about some choices that I was reminded about.

Saint Seiya: Soldier's Soul would perhaps call out more to existing fans of the Seiya anime, but as a newcomer, I was less than impressed.

Although it could allow the player a little more control, Jotun is a pleasure to play - check it out. You'll be Thor-ry to miss it!

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition keeps the heart of the 2006 release and reimagines it for the new generation. With remastered 1080p visuals and 60 FPS multiplayer it is a well recommended title to anyone's Xbox One collection. Whether you're a new player to the franchise or a returning veteran you'll soon find yourself gnashing grubs and stomping nubs in no time.

9 / 10.0 - Beyond Eyes
Oct 17, 2015

Although it isn't the traditional, fun-filled kind of game most people would look for, I recommend this one. It's more like an interactive work of art, but it's well worth it. Put aside your expectations, and let yourself be guided through Rae's world one step at a time.

7 / 10.0 - Nom Nom Galaxy

The game has an unavoidable appeal due to its odd premise, great soundtrack and colourful visuals. It's one you might find yourself coming back to, if only to perfect that minestrone you've been working on.

Cute Things Dying Violently is a game that takes children's TV levels of cute and adds cartoon blood in an attempt to give it something extra to hide the fact that it is in essence a cross between Angry Birds and Lemmings. It misses the mark by such a wide margin that it boggles the mind.

6.5 / 10.0 - Train Valley
Oct 7, 2015

Don't get me wrong, this is a fine, challenging little game, but I emphasise 'little'. This kind of game seems to befit the phone a tad more. Still, what we have here is good – up until you crash trains, that is...
