Nintendo Blast's Reviews

In the midst of an uninteresting relationship system, a confusing plot, characters without depth, poor game optimization and battles without strategy, it is difficult to find positive points in Loop8. Its scenarios are certainly beautiful at times, the female characters also have beautiful models and a cute design, but the lack of optimization, lack of depth and quantity of dialogues and game events, extremely repetitive system, confusing and poorly elaborated plot and combats without emotions certainly doesn't make Loop8 a game I'd recommend to anyone other than those who are hardcore Gunparade March fans. It's really a shame, because I really wanted to like the game and I believe that if it had been better worked on, it would have become a good game.

5 / 10.0 - Tasomachi
May 19, 2022

Tasomachi: Behind the Twilight, as an action platformer, leaves something to be desired. Had it been announced as an exploration simulator, or even as an “ongoing project”, the title even fulfills its role. In terms of visuals, music and gameplay, Yukumo's adventure shows great potential; on the other hand, these positives aren't enough to make Tasomachi escape the fog of oblivion.

5 / 10.0 - Lumberhill
Apr 21, 2022

Lumberhill ends up being an example of trying to ride a recent success format of games but lacks the details that could make it triumph by its own merits and shine among the best of its genre. There isn't much to say beyond its repetitiveness and lack of identity, but if you're missing the good old Overcooked, maybe the unique job of a lumberjack might strike your fancy?

5 / 10.0 - Rune Factory 5
Mar 22, 2022

Rune Factory 5 manages to deliver a lot of content, offering a barrage of classic elements, but delivering them along with a collection of mistakes and oversights. Performance issues, structural game design flaws and lack of politeness end up ruining the potential of this long-awaited continuation of the classic franchise.

The protagonist, Fuma, is a skilled warrior with very plastic movements. With all this fascinating ambience of the ancient Japan, not only thanks to the visual but also the soundtrack, seeing all the plasticity of a good hit with a sword is an important part of the game for immersion. To help visualization, movement is slow. However, this is still an action game, and having the gameplay suffer with slow movements isn't exactly ideal. This example sums what GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon is: an action game with beautiful visuals. However, its visual refinement sometimes goes beyond what can be functional. It's a title that tries to incorporate features from successful modern roguelikes. However, what inspired it didn't serve to give it prominence and personality sometimes. It's a game with potential to be extraordinary but loses itself in the mundane.

Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp has an interesting premise for a game but it unfortunately doesn't fit the standards of the Switch. Considering its gameplay and gacha features, it would be more attractive as one of the many "freemium" titles available for mobile devices. Unfortunately, not even seeing your favorite characters in swimsuits is enough to make it an attractive game.

5 / 10.0 - Apple Slash
Aug 22, 2021

Apple Slash uses fast paced rhythm to create a good action adventure. It's exciting to defeat groups of enemies with powerful attacks, especially when we can mix up special abilities. Moreover, there's charm in its compact world and retro atmosphere. However, the experience is extremely brief and feels unfinished. In the end, Apple Slash is fun, but it's an ephemeral experience.

5 / 10.0 - Last Stop
Aug 4, 2021

Last Stop goes to great lengths to build a story that mixes fantasy and absurdity with everyday family dramas. Even though it succeeds in its central objective, the title fails as a game, it offers very little to those who are following the fate of the characters on screen. With uninteresting minigames and few ramifications in the narrative from the choices we make for the characters, the game frustrates more than enchants.

Even though it's one of those cheaper eShop titles that, like many others, could simply be overlooked, 'Missing Features: 2D' manages to stand out. With an interesting idea and good pace that keeps the player's attention. There are a considerable amount of problems, though — but if you're curious enough about the premise, it's worth giving it a try for yourself.

Stitchy in Tooki Trouble had everything to be a good game - a charismatic protagonist, attractive scenarios and pleasant visuals. Inspiration in Donkey Kong Country, however, is almost a copy, which was not made with the same quality. The lack of challenges and low difficulty make it difficult to recommend the title, except to introduce the gender to young children.

5 / 10.0 - Balancelot
Feb 24, 2021

Balancelot is an unusual experiment of the side-scrolling platform genre based on a simple, creative and artistically inspired idea, but which unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired regarding the execution of its mechanics, graphics, physics and even with regard to its history . Anyway, the game can captivate for some time those who are interested in medieval art or experimental platform mechanics.

Vera Blanc: Ghost In The Castle is, like its title, a spectrum of what its predecessor was, being similar only with a shallow and less threatening story that doesn't last as long.

Ultra Hat Dimension is a game without great qualities. With a focus on gameplay, it fails to deliver really interesting puzzles, oscillating between the boredom of more than fifty obvious levels and only a handful of challenging areas. For people looking for a casual retro-style puzzle, there are much better options on the market.

Even with a good atmosphere of an abandoned server and with graphics that refer to the 90s' shooters, Connection Haunted cannot cause suspense or is interesting enough to make players search for all the game's endings or their easter eggs. Its lack of originality and content turns the title into a mediocre and unrewarding narrative.

5 / 10.0 - Bounty Battle
Sep 17, 2020

The proposal to join characters from other indie titles is noble, but its execution is terrible. With poor gameplay and performance issues, Bounty Battle is far from living up to its potential. Unfortunately, it was not this time that we saw the main heroes of the independent developer scene shining together in a fighting game.

5 / 10.0 - Bake 'n Switch
Sep 16, 2020

Bake ‘n Switch has charisma and a fun proposal. The competitive mode delivers a consistent experience, but the main focus, which is the campaign, falls short. The game suffers from imbalance, especially for two players, making the game tiring and frustrating. In addition, a simple method of connecting to other users in online matches is lacking. It is, without a doubt, a title made with care and attention to aesthetic details. But when it comes to gameplay, it needed to bake a little longer.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons needed to stay in development for a few more seasons, receiving the polish it needed to become memorable. There are really good ideas in the game, with emphasis on the main mechanics of the stations. There are few titles that explore a certain aspect so well without making it dull or repetitive. However, without a doubt, the biggest negative point is the huge gallery of technical problems. Constant and time consuming load screens, objects being rendered a few meters away, areas with fog, very unstable fps rate, many bugs and crashes that close the game are just a few in this list.

Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? Infinite Combate had the potential to be better, especially if it was released a few years ago for Nintendo 3DS. It is a title that insults dungeon crawlers and RPGs in general, although it has some good points and is noob friendly. In addition, instead of recommending it, I think it is more advantageous to watch the animation. Trying to find positive points to compesate it's problems disappointed me, just like the animation.

Spirit of the North is one of those games that had everything to be a good success story. After all, in addition to having an interesting premise and being visually attractive, it is the debut title of a developer with only two people. However, going beyond its appearance, there is a frustrating title, with confusing design, problematic controls and boring missions. The hope is that Infuse Studio will take all the experience gained from this debut title and further improve its development for future games. The graphics technique, apparently, they already have. All that remains is to tighten the loose screws on the gameplay side.

In short, Pokémon Café Mix is not bad; on the contrary, it is fun, colorful and with a good presentation. However, it is just a simple aperitif, which can become nauseating if served continuously.
