OkunoKa Madness isn't the name of the game, it's the name of the condition you have once you've played it. Evil geniuses are more forgiving than this game's development team, and though you'll be whimpering for the sweet, simple oblivion of a shark-infested tank, OkunoKa Madness will have you clambering back out for another go.

With its perfect controls and its intriguing mechanics, OkunoKA Madness is a love letter to all recent high-precision platforms, like Slip, The End is Nigh and Super Meat Boy. A true hardcore platform, with a lovely speedrunning twist that guides the player in a deep loop of tries and learning. A very good take, despite some too frustrating levels.

OkunoKA Madness is a great platformer that is easy to recommend for those looking for a good challenge. It only loses points for some minor annoyances like cluttered levels, occasional difficulty spikes, and disappointing boss fights.

OkunoKA Madness is an eye-catching, compelling and graphically pleasing platformer, a bigger and more ruthless version of the original game for Nintendo Switch. It is incredibly well suited for the PC as well, as long you're playing on a joypad.

OkunoKA Madness is a lazy port of a platform with the appeal of a smartphone game, rather than a 2020 product.

Fast-moving platforming with a focus on precision is what it all ends up being about on OkunoKA Madness, and the fact that this title has been geared towards speedrunners is thus no surprise...

OkunoKA Madness on Nintendo Switch is an adorable little platformer game that takes us down the frustrating yet addictive road of masocore gaming, are you ready to jump in? Dive into the world of souls to take on the role of our hero KA, an adorable little blue guy who needs to save the Soul World from his Arch Nemesis, the Evil Os. The story is simple and told via short cutscenes that rely on the visuals of the artwork to tell the tale in an almost story book manner.

OkunoKA Madness does have some flaws, but it’s still definitely worth playing for those who enjoy testing the limits of their patience and have the necessary reflexes of a ninja to simultaneously avoid multiple dangers.

Okunoka Madness knows what game it wants to be. A hard brutal platformer that will have the most experienced gamer one the verge of throwing their Switch out the window. For some that’s enjoyable but for others not. I really loved the art style of the game but its a shame the levels and art work will only be appreciated by a few gamers patient enough to make it through the insanity. I had fun with my time with Okunoka but I think I’ll be taking a few relaxing baths before I pick it up again.
