Dirt 5 is possibly the best Codemasters game to ever be released and can stand on par with its simulation focussed sibling Dirt Rally 2.0. A visual and auditory treat, this game defines the end of the racing games on the Playstation 4 and it's done so with a flair befitting of the Dirt franchise. This is a must have racer!

A blast to play, and brings back much needed separation and personality to the numbered series of DIRT games that that DiRT 4 seemed to lose by blurring the lines too much. Playground mode will absolutely keep me coming back for more to beat not just my own, but friends' times as well, because there's nothing better than beating a time within mere hundredths and restoring bragging rights.

DIRT 5 takes the series back to a more arcade style but the career lacks variety, the vehicle handling is often sluggish, and the basic multiplayer setup is a discouragement. Without a rally mode, the only strong feature is the ability to make and share tracks, but that is not enough to stave off some technical issues.

It may be a competitive launch window for Dirt 5, but Codemaster's latest racing game still delivers. Design of cars, different weather conditions and great Career Mode make Dirt 5 a fun and interesting racing game. unfortunately despite having beautiful lightening and effects, low quality effects let the game down graphically. Overall Dirt 5 is a fun game that racing lovers will enjoy.

Following today's racing game trends, DiRT 5 explores the best of speed in the style of the great games of this generation. The automotive experience seeks to bring the maximum fidelity both in models and in simulation of driving aligned to factors such as response to commands and a great soundtrack. Despite bringing many aspects from games like Forza Horizon, the developer shows evolution by producing its fifth title in the series confirming the authenticity of this speed franchise.

If you are a fan of racing simulations, Dirt 5 may not be the best option for you, but as an arcade racing fan, Dirt 5 is one of the best choices you can have. The stunning visuals alone could be worth the price.

Dirt 5 is a fun game no matter what type of racing you’re into. Even though it leans more to the arcade side of things, there’s enough here that should keep all race fans entertained for a while.

Dirt 5 maintains the tradition of being a solid racing title. The campaign is quite deep thanks to the various events and tracks you can choose from, while the inclusion of local multiplayer for just about every mode gives it a huge advantage over almost every other non-kart racing game on the PC platform. The title requires some pretty beefy hardware and other software to make the game shine, and there are still a few things that need patching, but as a whole, arcade racing fans who aren't looking for a bevy of top-of-the-line sports cars will get a kick out of Dirt 5.

DIRT 5 is a game with identity crisis. It reminds me of Motorstorm more than DiRT. But it's still pretty good.

I have to say that DIRT 5 is a must play for any fan of fun arcade racing games. Those are the types of racing games I enjoy the most as I don’t get near as much fun out of simulation types. DIRT 5 reminds me of games like Motorstorm where you’re just racing through colorful off-road environments, kicking up dirt, and going off jumps. It’s not the prettiest racing game of this generation but with a wide variety of modes to play, plenty of cars to take control of, and a great audio package DIRT 5 has just about everything that a fun-loving racing fan could ask for.

All in all, DiRT 5 excels as an arcade racer that feels like a natural evolution of DiRT 3 and DiRT: Showdown.

All in all, Dirt 5 sets the gold standard for a next-gen arcade racing experience. It’s good when played solo, but the experience is even better when played with a friend.

DIRT 5's off-road racing with over 60 vehicles in 10 real world settings can be a ton of fun as you go for the gold while slipping and sliding in the rain, snow, ice, and mud. Plus, building your own stunt arenas is great for those who prefer careful maneuvers.

Dirt 5 aims to be an arcade experience, focusing on immediacy and fun. The campaign is a bit old school, but the events are exciting. Multiplayer and the Playgrounds mode extend its longevity. Dirt 5 doesn't innovate but is undeniably fun.

Dirt 5 is a very good title that revives the arcade racing genre and combines it with nice graphics, music and effects. Even without DLC, the game offers a fairly long career mode, a variety of real cars, well-designed tracks and a mix of different racing events and styles. So if you are one of those gamers who want to race, so to speak, to relax, enjoy the graphics and fine music, Dirt 5 is a clear choice.

I didn’t expect to fall in love with Dirt 5 as much as I did, and despite all the hours I’ve already put into the game, I don’t expect to stop playing anytime soon. Dirt 5 is lighthearted, simple, effective fun that’ll have you racing around again, and again, and again.

Dirt 5's story has a solid foundation and stellar voice acting, but it ultimately fails to capitalize on its potential. The driving, on the other hand, completely makes up for the lack of cutscenes or expanded story beats. Drifting around corners is endlessly enjoyable, as is overtaking another car while jumping a massive gap. Having the ability to complete the entire campaign with three other friends only adds to the experience, as does creating Gymkhana playgrounds in the playground creator.

Dirt 5 is a mixed bag; it’s a graphically exquisite experience with a flawed progression system and a lack of in-game rewards. However, it does excel in core gameplay and is enormously fun with a gentle learning curve and a great variety of race modes. If you are in the market for a fun and great-looking rally racing game that does away with all the “simulator” gubbins, Dirt 5 is well worth a look—foibles and all.
