While the complete edition is a fun blast from the past Scott Pilgrim vs The World The Game it is just that. It's a game from a different time that has some trouble keeping up with the new games in town. The addition of an online co-op is nice though.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game Complete Edition is a solid brawler that features some rather brutal difficulty to it, and a bit of a grind factor as well.

If you’re fresh off the likes of Streets of Rage 4 or River City Girls, I feel like this stands next to them pretty handily. Couch multiplayer fans will feel comfortable enough taking in the short runtime, even with a few rough edges. Certain elements here ultimately amount to nitpicks, but the total package still holds up today.

Best enjoyed with a group of friends, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game deserved to be saved from digital purgatory. However, not even the thumping soundtrack and pleasant visuals can save it from being a rough go for solo gamers.

I am glad that I missed out on Scott Pilgrim the first time around because I don’t know if I would have appreciated it as much then, as I do now. Beat ’em up’s are generally not the type of games I enjoy, however Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game has probably changed my mind. I am motivated to play more games in this genre.

For those that have been waiting for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game to return, it seems that the wait has been worth it. The game's steep difficulty might turn off some players, but it's also quite rewarding. Ubisoft created a faithful take on Bryan Lee O'Malley's world, and it's great that a much bigger audience will finally get the chance to experience it. With its incredible presentation, gorgeous soundtrack, and fantastic sense of style, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition channels the heart of its source material in a way few adaptations have managed.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World is still a very fun game even after 11 years since its original release. It's simple yet beautiful art design and audio effects makes the beat 'em up gameplay even more engaging and especially for those who have enjoyed watching the Scott Pilgrim movie, the game is a must have.

But Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game is still fun to play and if, in the last ten years, found a love for the comic book that inspired it or the film that became a cultural icon, then this game is a really superb way to help celebrate that fandom. As a fighting game, this complete edition is absolutely worth to be in your collection but as a trip down memory lane, the asking price is worth battling an Evil Ex or two to have!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game made good on the promise that movie tie-in games usually failed to keep, and the Complete Edition proves that virtually the entire package is just as enjoyable over a decade later.

With Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition, you are getting exactly what it says on the tin; this is the complete edition, with no real added bells or whistles. The original DLC is included, which adds Knives and Wallace as playable characters, along with a few bonus modes that offer some decent distractions from the main story, yet there is a real lack of legacy content here to make the title feel like a true celebration. Regardless, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition remains the same blast of a game that it was over a decade ago, whether you are playing alone, locally via co-op, or even through online co-op, it is a game that will appeal to most, and is a must-have for those who are fans of the source material. Now, let us just pray that Ubisoft doesn’t have to take this version off the store in the future too!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition oozes charisma and entertains with its humorous beat'em up mechanics. Simple concepts make the experience very accessible without neglecting some depth aspects. This is another one of those perfect games to enjoy with friends in multiplayer: it is a delight to coordinate attacks to finish off enemies or take advantage of extra modes. However, the title has some dubious design choices, such as the poorly implemented RPG aspects and unbalanced difficulty, which can keep the most demanding players away. In the end, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is an uncomplicated option to enjoy with friends.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game - Complete Edition is most definitely recommended for multiplayer, so if you do indeed have some folks to play it through with, don’t miss the chance to play one of the best looking retro-inspired games around. But if you’re in it only for the single player, you might be left disappointed by how unbalanced it can be.

The music is fun, the story and animation are quirky, and there’s plenty to reminisce with friends over while you’re playing couch co-op. But its nostalgia has tainted our recollection of what Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game was and it’s not what we need anymore. If I’ve learned anything from this experience it’s that hipsters, nostalgia, and emo kids are the real villains.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is the game to play if you love old-school 2D beat-em-ups. However, you really need to love the genre to love this game. If you thought that Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy was old-school to a fault, I’d be cautious about picking up this game. Also, the online is just as antiquated as the game genre.
