This is a full-fat, planet-hopping, mystery-filled adventure that PS5 owners will lap up and non-owners will resent not being able to play, perhaps through no lack of trying.
Rift Apart is a special game. And as long as Sony Interactive Entertainment has Insomniac releasing games like this for the PS5, I’m going keep showing up on day one with $70 in hand, ready for the next adventure.
Fortunately, Rift Apart has charm to burn, in its character design, lively combat mechanics, and explorable levels that feel large without seeming maze-like, busy without being cluttered. It’ll still be some time before PS5 supply catches up with demand, but for those early adopters, this is one of the best looks yet at what the new console generation has to offer. It’s big, it’s bright, and it’s almost impossible not to love.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the first game I've played since the ninth-generation consoles launched that feels like a true next-gen title. Insomniac Games has done everything that it needed to do in making both a sequel to its longest-running franchise and a true next-gen exclusive. While it might not technically be a PlayStation 5 launch title, it feels like one-a real preview of the console's capabilities. But beyond that, Rift Apart is just an absolute blast to play.

Insomniac consistently prove that the Ratchet & Clank series is a wellspring of potential, and they've delivered a complete experience that's as full of heart as it is surprises.
From the very first level to the very last, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is a true gaming treat that I thoroughly enjoyed and it was like being a Rollercoaster ride between dimensions. It delivered an almost flawless gaming experience that boasts next-gen visuals and mechanics plus an over the top and light-hearted story with two equally entertaining and engaging protagonists, Ratchet and Rivet. So if you're looking for that true next-gen exclusive on the PlayStation 5, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is indeed that game that makes it my first must play title of 2021.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has always been a game with great ambitions. To bring back a good old series in modern way isn’t for everyone and yet Insomniac Games did everything right. The story of Ratchet and Clank is worthy of every single animated movie. It will take you on an engaging expedition to save the world through magnificent cut-scenes with professional voice-over. But unlike animated movies this adventure is there to be experienced. Gameplay follows the standards of action adventure and platform games and in many ways, it goes even beyond. The layout of action, slow story moments and logic is breathtaking and every single time you spend with Ratchet, Clank and Rivet will be the time you enjoy. Battles are still a little bit more chaotic and you have to take some time to get along with the aiming, but in the final judgment Rift Apart offers you an experience, which won’t leave you steady till the final battle no matter what. Planets are just wonderful as is the graphic and technological processing managed by console PlayStation 5. The next part isn’t trying to change anything in its core or to be something entirely new or different. It just wants to do the honor to the famous and beloved couple of heroes. And it does that damn well. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is one of the best games in its genre. That is something that can’t be changed by any smaller mistake. If you want an action adventure with platform attributes, you don’t have to search any further. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the world you are looking for. And a game with hardly any competitor of the same nature.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart not only exemplifies what the PS5 is capable of, but it's also everything that a video game should be: fun. The story has been masterfully crafted to engage with new audiences, as well as long-standing fans that have been with Ratchet and Clank through the past 19 years without having to beat the nostalgia-machine to death.
Overall a fantastic new title for the PS5.
Rift Apart sets an imminent promise to those that expect titles of the same calibre in PlayStation’s future, and if this is only just the beginning, then holy cow are we in for a stupefied generation of gaming. While no game is completely perfect, it’s hard to find fault with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The game is stunningly beautiful, incredibly smooth to play, and brilliantly written. A truly vibrant and dynamic universe you will never want to leave.

If you can't already tell from my glowing praise, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is absolutely worth adding to your library if you own a PS5. Not only is it likely the best installment in Insomniac's action-platformer series so far, but it also gives you one of our best looks so far at what next-gen games have the potential to do. Whether this is your first foray into Ratchet & Clank or you have been playing these games since the PS2 days, Rift Apart shouldn't be missed.
Rift Apart stands as culmination of everything possible for the series on next gen hardware, providing a delightful visual and technical showcase held up by top notch writing and a lovable cast of characters.
