Scarlet Nexus Reviews
With a roster of memorable characters and set in a visually exciting world, Scarlet Nexus is an unforgettable experience.
Scarlet Nexus succeeds in offering an interesting story and characters to establish its roots as an exciting new action RPG despite the overly anime aesthetics that are felt in its story as well.
Scarlet Nexus is a really great new IP from Bandai Namco that is hopefully the start of an ongoing franchise.
Scarlet Nexus is a Japanese A-RPG brings us to a brainpunk world where some terrible monsters known as alters want the humanity's end. As part of the FAS, we will use the wide range of options that this great title gives us to have varied, frenzy and fully customizable battles. All this with a design of scenarios and enemies will not leave you impassive, especially alters. A title I recommend to anyone who likes RPGs minimally and has a little time, because if we want to finish the game with both characters, we will have to spend approximately 45 hours depending on the difficulty and how long it takes.

Scarlet Nexus excites with its nimble combat and brainpunk atmosphere. It's ecstatic to use psychic powers to hurl objects at enemies, unleash elaborate combos, and perform stylish finishes — it's like being at the center of an action anime. The diversity of abilities offers several options in battles, being very rewarding to combine the powers of allies with the use of special objects to defeat the creatures. The linear structure of the adventure and the focus on combat are fine, but it's a shame that the variety of enemies and scenarios is limited. The setting inspired by Japanese animations is great, but the plot full of absurd narrative features and clichés is a disappointment. In the end, Scarlet Nexus offers an impressive action experience, despite its problems.

A triumphant new IP from Bandai Namco, Scarlet Nexus is probably the best RPG of the year so far. Its compellingly dark story will keep you guessing through two necessary playthroughs, while its engaging psychokinetic combat is in a class of its own, albeit with exceptionally streamlined progression. Throwing your toys around has never been so much fun.
The key points of Scarlet Nexus, using psychokinesis action and two main characters unveiling the story, successfully make the game fascinating and unique. Even some parts are dissappointing, but its unique combat system and actions is worth experiencing.

Scarlet Nexus is a thrilling action-RPG that offers a surprised-filled narrative, slick action-packed combat, and stunning visuals… what more could you want? It really ticks all boxes as far as the genre is concerned and, outside of some repetitive moments here and there, rarely steps a foot wrong throughout its meaty adventure. It’s just thrilling throughout and offers some of the best combat I’ve seen in an action-RPG in some time. Bandai Namco have set the bar high for future action-RPGs in this generation of consoles, with Scarlet Nexus proving to be one mighty fine release in the genre.
Scarlet Nexus delivers a game that hits every gameplay beat flawlessly, providing the player with stylish visuals to enjoy, all mounted on characters and a narrative that only sometimes lands. However, the narrative struggles shouldn’t be nearly enough to keep anyone who loves fast-paced action games from reveling in just how fun, cool, and bombastic Scarlet Nexus’s gameplay is.
Book us a first-class train seat for a trip to this particular nexus. This sci-fi anime-laced RPG odyssey is a triumph.
The attempt of a new IP with Scarlet Nexus has succeeded. But this is largely due to its excellent combat system, which carries the game over long distances. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of its story. Its complexity suffers badly from the weak narrative style via still images and the lifeless and detail-poor areas.

As far as surprises in 2021 go, Scarlet Nexus jumping into my list of favourite things I've played this year is certainly up there as unexpected.
This is the way of the future with character building, personality progression and the ability to facilitate and satiate that need for exponential, rigorous pacing that escalates further into the adventure. Scarlet Nexus is a must play this generation.
Overall, I feel like Scarlet Nexus is a game that can easily be judged by its cover. In an industry where there are tons of generic anime action games, it’s hard to pick out the right ones. Hopefully people give this one a chance, because the fantastic combat and the visual style make it something truly special. While it does have some pacing problems and some unrealistic alliances, the incredibly unique story manages to entangle you in a web of intrigue.
Despite knowing nothing about the game before I got my hands on it, Scarlet Nexus has quickly become one of my favourite games of the year. It has very satisfying combat, a wide variety of abilities to play with, and an interesting narrative that brilliantly weaves two perspectives together in order to create two campaigns with one underlying story. I highly recommend you play the game on either the PS5, Xbox Series, or PC, so you can enable the higher framerates, but if you’re happy with 30fps then the game also runs really well on last-gen systems. If you have a spare 50+ hours, and a love for anime, you should already have Scarlet Nexus – it’s that good.
Scarlet Nexus is the sort of game where not only will its combat sell it, but the story and spoilers packed into it will too. It is a title where I was constantly thrown by elements. Sometimes it was an exceptionally clever application of a power. It could be a great enemy design. Or maybe a twist would get me. Even when I wasn’t exactly thrilled with how something might work, I found myself wanting to talk about it.
Th story and gameplay of Scarlet Nexus are so great that it feels totally new and one of kind. Visual wise, this feels like peak anime inspired video game. So, just go play it because you will definitely enjoy it to no end.

Scarlet Nexus could have easily become a new IP used to test a few systems as the studio focuses on larger projects. However, there’s an awesome battle system here that evolves throughout the entire campaign. Each fight has a brilliant rhythm to it as you take advantage of enemy weaknesses and use the environments to your advantage. The team introduces a large cast of characters but still manages to provide insight into their goals to make it worth seeing through to the end. Sadly, not everything works, but you might forget about floaty controls and convoluted narrative as you ride atop a bus into the battlefield.
