A somewhat lacking roster and some technical limitations keep it from reaching the highs of Naruto Storm 4, but the foundation is strong. In time, The Hinokami Chronicles can reach or even surpass those heights

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles does the franchise justice and is a strong first console offering. CyberConnect2 has crafted a stylish action game that is fun from start to finish. With free updates planned, this already strong core will only get better as additional content is added.

We are really happy about the next "fighting style" game adaptation of the famous anime series. The experience of the Demon Slayer story from the player's view was great. But we still feel that the playstyle was limited and we are looking for more immersive parts.

Although Cyberconnect2 knows how to give life to the characters of an anime / manga in a video game, we are facing yet another case, and there are already several, of extremely powerful IP that is not used 100%.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is a perfect 3D anime fighting, based on the great tech build of previous games and doing the same things, but on a smaller scale

Demon Slayer is true to its source material, closely following the initial story arc and Mugen Train. The single-player story is short and never really taxes the player. The areas in between fights aren't inviting to explore as movement is slow and tasks obligatory. The roster of characters for online fights is small and partly locked behind the single-player storyline. In multiplayer, the fighting system blossoms, but it would have been great if the range of abilities was better used throughout the game.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles is a very fun game, but with a short duration. It's a must-have for anime lovers, but it's not for everyone.

In the pantheon of anime games, Cyberconnect2 has definitely done more right by the anime than by the gameplay. Its ability to capture the anime experience remains strong, but far too little concern is there for the game and its community. Time will tell if Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles fosters a bright future for humanity or if it will leave them to the mercy of the demons.

Demon Slayer could be without a doubt one of the best anime-inspired games in recent times. You can count on a story 100% faithful to the anime. The title considers very detailed, beautiful graphics, a captivating soundtrack and a simple, yet exciting and challenging combat system. However it loses a lot of arguments when it comes to the insipid aspect of exploration, the uninteresting online mode and especially in regards tonthe small diversity of characters. The improvement opportunities are significant, but if you are fans of anime and in particular Demon Slayer, you can count on an experience that lives up to the name.

Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles is an absolutely unmissable game for anime fans, who will relive exciting moments of the saga. I believe it also has the potential to please those who have never followed the animation, due to its very consistent campaign mode. The fighting system is extremely satisfying, simple in its mechanics, friendly to novices, and fun to veterans. It is a fighting game more casual than competitive, very well done and focused on the player experience.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles appears to be an attempt to satisfy series enthusiasts. To some extent, it is approachable and entertaining, but the story is mainly a rehash with no fresh content, and the versus mode, although enjoyable, could benefit from a broader character roster.

For fans of the source material or just arena fighters in general, Demon Slayer’s incredible combat and substantial story mode make this a must-play. Sure, the exploration sections may disrupt the pacing somewhat, and the online functionality could use some patching, but these issues don’t detract too much from the stellar foundation which CyberConnect2 has put in place.

I’ve got to be honest with you, I’m put between a rock and a hard place with Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. This is a 3D fighting game from one of my favorite game studios with a popular anime franchise backing it; it sold me from the very moment it was announced back in March 2020! The fact it was published by one of my favorite game companies, SEGA, didn’t hurt matters either! I’ll admit, I had a blast of a time playing it, even though I’m not the biggest fan of Demon Slayer when compared to Naruto, but there are some inexcusable problems that hold it back from excellence. The lack of online options, the input delay, and the slow-paced story deter me from making a solid recommendation, but I know more than anyone that there is a market for a game like this. If you’re the slightest bit curious about this game, I implore you to give the manga or anime a try and see if it’s your thing. If you like it, great! This game was tailor-made for you and you won’t regret your purchase! If you’re someone who wants to dabble your toes into fighting games but are afraid of the heavy time commitment to play them at a competitive level, this is definitely a game I’d recommend as an entry-level fighter. But I must warn you: there are imperfections present and you’ll have to accept them to see the quality title that’s buried within, especially if you intend to play it on the last generation of consoles.

Finally, I must say that Demon Slayer has been able to provide one of the best anime adaptations by presenting a rich and fascinating story section, the best anime art design in the game industry, unparalleled directing and epic battles, breathtaking bass fights, and the use of anime music in critical moments. Give. The quality of the story section of Demon Slayer is really so high that even newcomers to the series can be told that instead of watching the anime or reading the manga, they can choose Demon Slayer to experience the story of this work. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to other parts of the game and the lack of content have prevented Demon Slayer from reaching its full potential.

To put it simply, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is in an odd place. The story covers what it needs to, giving it enough content to fill complete for fans and newcomers alike, it just feels hollow.

Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles is a case of a game that will certainly appeal to fans of the anime but may not pull in a wider audience. The overall content of the game feels sort of shallow, considering the anime is still only in its second season, opening the game up to the possibility of adding more fighters via DLC. That said, if you’re in the market for a simple game that’s based on one of the most popular animes in recent memory with fantastic characters and an interesting storyline, Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles is certainly one title to consider.

This Demon Slayer game is a great treat for fans, with an incredible recreation of the best scenes of the anime, but its short longevity and character roster makes the experience feel heavily lacking.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is a very satisfying 3D fighting video game but it is kind of muddled by a sub-par exploration part and a lack of content compared to other fighting games. Fortunately, the story and visuals are pretty great and the online fights can be some of the most exhilarating gaming experiences you get to have this year.
