Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles is that rare anime game that has something for everyone. Established fans of the franchise get to play through a fantastic adaptation of the anime. Newcomers get a fantastic introduction to the anime franchise that took the world by storm. And people who don’t care about that at all and just want a fun flashy arena fighter to play around with get that in spades.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is a pretty great first video game entry for the Demon Slayer series. While it’s exploration and roster is a little thin, it’s presentation of the story and it’s flashy, engaging combat had me addicted to both it’s main adventure and online modes. I’m interested to see how the game expands and is balanced over time with new fighters continuing to be added in post release updates, but most of all I’m interested to see what features and tweaks can be implemented in a sequel.

Great game for Demon Slayer fans, decent game for arena fighters fans.

It's a shame the gameplay is so similar to past games and the exploration segments so bland, because the recreation of the anime it's truly spectacular; the best to date in a CyberConnect2 game. Fans of Kimetsu no Yaiba will probably enjoy it, even with the severe lack of content.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is a loving recreation of the first leg of Tanjiro and Nezuko's journey. It might not push the envelope in any meaningful way, but I can guarantee that this will satiate Demon Slayer fans and maybe even provide some entertainment for newcomers. It delivers on exactly what's promised, and I think that is what most people will want out of The Hinokami Chronicles.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is basically a game for the fans. Do you want to pick your favorite character and beat up your other characters? Or do you want to see scenes from the original story re-created in beautiful 3D? However, that is about all it offers. It's beautiful, plays well, accurately captures the source material, and that is the beginning and end. If you're curious about the uber-popular franchise, it's probably best to watch the anime or read the manga before diving in.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles offers a great experience for anime fans in terms of narrating events and their fighting system, distinctive drawings and great music but with a limited number of characters and options that were not successful in the development of the story.

The Hinokami Chronicles feels different. The battles alone make this game stand on its own two feet. And even though Story Mode leaves some things to be desired — namely, nail-biting intensity — it’s a retelling of the story which does Demon Slayer justice.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is a very satisfying 3D fighting video game but it is kind of muddled by a sub-par exploration part and a lack of content compared to other fighting games. Fortunately, the story and visuals are pretty great and the online fights can be some of the most exhilarating gaming experiences you get to have this year.

Finally, I must say that Demon Slayer has been able to provide one of the best anime adaptations by presenting a rich and fascinating story section, the best anime art design in the game industry, unparalleled directing and epic battles, breathtaking bass fights, and the use of anime music in critical moments. Give. The quality of the story section of Demon Slayer is really so high that even newcomers to the series can be told that instead of watching the anime or reading the manga, they can choose Demon Slayer to experience the story of this work. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to other parts of the game and the lack of content have prevented Demon Slayer from reaching its full potential.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles may not be perfection, but still delivers a one-of-a-kind experience for those looking to be interactive and immersed within its lore. Despite some shortcomings, its exemplary gameplay loop will have fans elated, along with set pieces that have made the franchise a staple within the medium.

Although much more could be demanded of it, in the end Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Hinokami Chronicles delivers what it promises: accessible and fun fights with your favorite characters, and a tremendously faithful adaptation of the original material.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles appears to be an attempt to satisfy series enthusiasts. To some extent, it is approachable and entertaining, but the story is mainly a rehash with no fresh content, and the versus mode, although enjoyable, could benefit from a broader character roster.

The main story beats are all here, just at a slower pace than I feel a fighting game should offer. Alternatively, if you already love Demon Slayer and can look past a few hours of sluggish not-fighting to get to some really fun and flashy combat with your favorite characters, then this is definitely the game for you.

Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Chronicles of Hinokami is overly perfectionist for better and for worse. We will find an adaptation that borders on the cloned and that, for this reason, will miss the fluidity, the touch and the visual rigor that is capable of offering both the medium itself and the greatest virtues of the title

The Hinokami Chronicles is a fighter arena with a poor character roster at the time of its release, and an unorganic story mode. You will be forced to finish it only to see the cutscenes and unlock the characters, instead of exploring battle systems. But not everything is disappointing, as the art direction is incredible, with special attacks taken directly from the anime, and the inclusion of the original music is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles does not manage to meet the high expectations. The title suffers from the usual weaknesses of various other implementations, which cannot be ironed out despite the great fighting system. Accordingly, the game lacks game content in every nook and cranny, which makes the solid framework look terrifyingly weak.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles is a fighter that balances depth and accessibility well, but it's hamstrung by an inconsistent story mode and a slim roster.
