GRID Legends Reviews
GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition brings a style of game to the Nintendo Switch 2 that isn't so common on this platform: simcades. The title offers an excellent combination of more realistic gameplay, multiple different disciplines, plenty of content to enjoy, and great optimization for the platform. GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition is an excellent choice for fans of the genre, and I hope this is just the beginning and that more simcade games will appear on the Switch 2.

It looks great, it’s got a shocking amount of content for a reasonable price, and it covers all kinds of racing subniches, from simulator-esque segments to arcade modes, and even destruction derbies. GRID Legends is the kind of port I want to see more arriving on the Switch 2 eShop: a great showcase of the system’s graphical capabilities, and how games that had been released a few years ago can be enjoyed in brand new ways, whilst retaining most of what made them good in the first place.
GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is a comprehensive package that leverages the legacy of the GRID series and cleverly adapts it to the hybrid format of Nintendo's console. The variety of modes, disciplines, and vehicles, along with accessible yet satisfying gameplay, ensures there's always something new to try. Thanks to the work of Feral Interactive and all the included content, it's an excellent way to enjoy the franchise both on handheld and docked.

With highs and lows across its different campaigns, GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition delivers a vast and highly customizable racing experience that strikes a balance between an arcade game and a more complex simulation title.

GRID Legends Deluxe Edition powerslides into a strong package with tight controls, a huge amount of content, and a presentation that feels like a full motorsport broadcast. With deep tuning, multiple modes, rewarding progression, and a wide range of cars and disciplines, it delivers a fast, flashy, and satisfying racing experience. A few minor issues and unclear mechanics do not stop it from being a thrilling ride packed with variety and style.
Grid Legends: Deluxe Edition is a standout among a relatively small roster of Nintendo Switch 2 racing games.
GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 is a confident, traditional racing game that benefits enormously from thoughtful optimization and strong core mechanics. While the story mode does not land as well as intended and online features feel limited, the racing itself remains excellent. This is a game that respects its roots while embracing modern flexibility. For players who value driving feel, presentation, and customization over flashy reinvention, GRID Legends delivers a rock-solid experience that still earns its place on the grid.
GRID Legends is a racing game with a dual nature. The Story mode is unengaging, acting as an extended tutorial for the better Career mode. However, even Career mode seems restrained by underdeveloped management elements. Beyond these issues, the arcade racing experience is intense, fun, content-rich, and varied. Still, there's some disappointment over what this Codemasters production could have been with a bit more effort.

If you are looking for a fun arcade racer with tight controls and good car handling but do not mind the forced live-action story mode, Grid Legends might be for you. While the game won’t impress your friends with its visuals or audio, it does provide a lot of content, thanks to the career mode, social play, and race creation.
GRID Legends is a safe step forward for the series. It really doesn’t feel like Codemasters have over-extended themselves by any means for this entry. With Driven to Glory serving as the highlight of the experience, there’s not much else for fans of the series.
To Codemasters’ credit, it is the full version of GRID Legends, but now available in VR. It’s not a simple “VR experience” either: there’s a truckload of content in this game, making it one of the beefiest titles available on the Quest 2. However, the horrendous visuals, disappointing controls, and lack of immersion make this one a tough sell to all but the most die-hard VR enthusiasts, those who were eagerly waiting for a full-fledged racing sim on the system.
Grid Legends is a mediocre title that offers little to nothing of interest. You'll be treated to a predictable story, a weak driving model, and outdated visuals. While it's still a decent racing game, it doesn't stand a chance against its competition.

When it comes to motorsport, gamers are spoilt for choice. Whereas the majority of gamers gravitate to platform exclusives such as Forza Horizon 5, or the recently released Gran Turismo 7, there’s also a wealth of multi-platform titles too. One such is GRID Legends which has been developed by the racing heavyweights over at Codemasters.
GRID Legends is a solid and fun arcade racing game, not revolutionary but certainly not dull either. Codemasters has worked to improve on the critical aspects of the 2019 reboot, creating a title with enviable content and a revised (though not perfect) artificial intelligence. It's a pity that the story mode is a bit jumbled and customisation is reduced, but overall we're looking at a game that's highly accessible for those who aren't used to the genre, but also potentially satisfying for motorsport fans, assuming you're aware of a distinctly arcade driving model that's intentionally light and without any particular frills.

I was ultimately disappointed, but not surprised by GRID Legends. After all, with the level of quality the last game set I couldn’t imagine this one being that much different. And while I did really really enjoy the story mode, it was very short and not the kind of thing people buy racing games for. The rest of the single-player was generic and barebones, while the multiplayer is already circling the drain.
Codemasters keeps trying to establish the true identity of the GRID series.

I would say that Codemasters ends up capitalizing on Grid and reshaping that same game that worked as a fresh start. Grid Legends could well operate as an expansion that would not result in a big shock wave, even if it is a game with a lot of content and so end up justifying its autonomy and prominence in the legacy of the series. Legacy that once again softens in the arcade format, in which the races are more spectacular, played at the foot, wheel the wheel, and the seriousness of the simulation is destitute and thrown back, either in history mode or through the traditional career mode.

After many runs in Grid Legends, I can say that the game is very positive, especially thanks to its accessibility, beautiful production and the large amount of things to get and do. Don't expect a revolutionary experience, either technically or functionally, but rather a job well done and varied. If you are a fan of racing games or even an admirer of the genre, this is certainly a must-have model to have in your garage.

Since 2008 the GRID series tried different formulas and in 2022 it ain't the exception, presenting a new dramatic narrative career and racing away from the more sim styled gameplay.

GRID Legends has its moments, and I was always able to get excited for short sessions, but I was never really captivated. Overall, you can play the game and it's fun for a limited time, but at a time when you can even get Forza Horizon 5 on Xbox with Game Pass, I don't know why I should spend my money with Codemasters/EA. The racing game doesn't offer enough for that and what is shown seems "outdated".
