Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Reviews
As someone that thoroughly enjoyed my 200 hours with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, I never expected Three Hopes to meet, let alone surpass that experience — but it does. Three Hopes’ systems all coalesce into something truly special, and the war-driven story allows the world and characters to shine their brightest. Though it could do with less padding, Three Hopes represents Koei Tecmo firing on all cylinders, and it’s easily another title to add to the growing list of essential Switch games.
Three Hopes is one of the best musou spin-offs released to date, combining its tried-and-tested gameplay with a level of story depth that was missing in the first Fire Emblem Warriors. Its sheer scope may be a bit much for players simply looking for a hack-and-slash action game, though.
The combination of frenetic Dynasty Warriors-style combat with Fire Emblem's lovable cast of characters makes this an engaging trip back to the Officers Academy
The overall game may fail to hit the same (perhaps unrealistically) lofty highs of one of the best titles on the Switch, but it's impressive how much it manages to feel like a Fire Emblem game and not just a Warriors title with familiar characters thrown in. That is its greatest strength, and the result is an experience where it's easy to warm to and invest in your favourite Fódlan characters all over again.
Fire Emblem: Three Hopes is not just the best Warriors game to date but a stand-out title in the Fire Emblem series. Being able to issue slightly more detailed orders to your team allows you to be far more strategic, making Three Hopes feel more like an authentic FE game but in real-time.

Three Hopes combines the epic narrative scale of Fire Emblem with the massive fights of a Warriors game. The end result feels properly grand, at least during those colossal end-of-chapter battles. You can still get pretty lost in the side quest sauce, but that’s fine. It’s those diversions that make your characters matter, at least when they’re off the field. I’d love a little more combat complexity, but I get why it’s absent. Not everyone makes it home, after all. If you’ve been missing this franchise since Three Houses, take heart! Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a gigantic adventure jam-packed with everything you love about the series. If you can open your heart to the Warriors gameplay, you’ll find a terrific entry in the FE series awaits you.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes may initially seem like just another musou, but it possesses some elements that serve as a link to the illustrious Fire Emblem series. This gives it a distinct identity, but at the heart of the combat, the mechanics of the series will inexorably feel like something already seen. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a fantastic hack and slash game that anyone can sink hours into. The world is immersive, featuring a roster of interesting characters that you can build relationships with. While the story is slightly overwhelming at the start, this is a game that anyone could enjoy, even if you have never touched the franchise before.
With Fire Emblem Three Hopes, Omega Force once again proves its ability to unite opposing universes and create an adaptation that works almost perfectly. Provided you have a strong liver and can withstand repetitiveness that can quickly become indigestible. Three Hopes inherits nearly all of the genre's inherent flaws, but manages to gloss over them with deep gameplay and exhilarating micro-management, provided you're fond of that sort of thing. Addictive in its own way, the game is nonetheless too long for its own good. To consume with moderation.

The best Warriors game. The implementation of the Fire Emblem formula in the Omega Force style is nearly perfect. As a no musou fan, I'm really surprised on how much I enjoyed Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

Ultimately, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes basically turned me into the Death Knight, who yearned for nothing but cold, heartless bloodshed as I hacked my way through a bunch of levels, ignoring every side objective that came up. Three Hopes serves up a fun story that will definitely please a lot of Three Houses fans, and despite a few character missteps here and there, it’s well worth experiencing. Just be careful not to fall to the dark side.
