Outward: Definitive Edition keeps its proposal intact on Switch and adds new content to the existing DLC to make the experience the most complete. Its level of demand and constant saving continue to make it one of the toughest and most surprising adventure games in the current catalog.

There's not much here to really dazzle, but if you haven't yet played it, Outward Definitive Edition has a lot to like for RPG and survival fans.

Unfortunately, the definitive edition of Outward has not been able to redeem the original work in its entirety, because it has basically maintained its same strengths and weaknesses.

An ambitious game that punches above its weight with unique RPG systems, survival mechanics and co-op support - and a lot of heart.

Outward: Definitive Edition is the only version recommended right now for those wanting to experience the game for the first time. The lack of technical improvements and prominent additions end up making the game unattractive to previous players.

Outward Definitive Edition is a very reliable proposal for fans of survival and worlds derived from medieval western fantasy. Surviving in this world is an arduous task that will only be within the reach of those who make the greatest effort.

I can’t convey just how impressed I was with Outward Definitive Edition. I would have been happy with a standard THQ Nordic styled remastered collection, but it was so much more. It was almost on the same level as the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, which I still hold as the gold standard of re-releases. There was so much love and care poured into every part of it, and in many ways it feels like a brand new game.

This game has me super excited. I really am enjoying it, and as much as I do feel it is amazing, I feel it could still be better. This has probably been the thing I wracked my brain over the most as good and fun as it is, there was always something missing. Something not quite complete. Even now I am having trouble putting my finger on it. It is like every aspect that you could rate this game is only just off a perfect score. Maybe if it had a slightly bigger budget, or if it was backed by another studio or company that could have funded it more, I do not know that could have hurt it.

Outward: Definitive Edition could be a great opportunity to breathe new life into a great game, but its next-gen release is marred by annoying glitches not present in the original version.
