Fobia has the right ingredients for a successful game but didn’t use them. It has a great atmosphere and soundtrack but without good gameplay, it falls apart.

Clearly inspired by the great horror games of decades past, Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel combines puzzles with scares to keep the players' interest.

Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel is a gorgeous game with awesome puzzles and a cinematic experience. It just won't be the game for you if combat is essential to you.

I had a fun time playing Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel with some frustrations regarding puzzles and lack of a map. During my 10-hour playthrough, i barely had any performance issues. The game is currently priced at 699 INR on Steam and for the price its asking its completely worth it and players looking for some horror action game after playing recent Resident Evil titles should feel right at home although it lacks some iconic antagonists like Mr.X and Lady Dimitrescu, it should fill a void of your horror games until a new Resident Evil title drops. Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel is available right on PS4, PS5, XBOX ONE, XBOX SERIES X and S and PC via steam.

Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel is a creepy horror title that occasionally lacks direction. Furthermore, it moves away from combat and relies more on quests, puzzles, and exploration. On top of this, it has an excellent story and a protagonist that you can empathise with. I loved its nod to Resident Evil and its many unique elements.

It's not going to blow you away, and unless you're really into the genre it's probably not something you need to play, but it's decent enough that if you're a fan of Silent Hill and Resident Evil and all their descendants, then it's definitely something you'll want to at least check out.

Anyone who has played Resident Evil: Village and is looking for an inexpensive, well made horror game that was clearly made by fans of the genre will likely find a lot to enjoy. I also still think anyone who likes metroidvanias should give this a shot too. I can’t wait to see what Pulsatrix Studios does next.

A great horror that packs most of the experience into its clever puzzles.

Fobia: St. Dinfna Hotel is a game that has been on my indie-horror radar for quite a while. The location within a vast hotel that seemingly shifts through various realities, not only screamed out the desperate isolation of ‘The Shining’ but also adds quite a hook to its narrative.

An homage to the mysterious survival horror history we’ve got with an amazing sense of creeping dread and lonely helplessness despite your victories; Fobia: St Dinfna Hotel delivers on all fronts with a slice of perfect ambience.

Fobia - St Dinfna Hotel is an adequate horror game with good scares but disappointing combat.

Everything that Fobia does has been done both worse and better by other titles. There’s potential in the concept, providing some of the rougher edges are smoothed off, however as it stands Fobia is the horror game equivalent of a plain bagel.

Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel offers a solid blend of challenging retro puzzles and some modern horror elements but lacks any enjoyable combat as well as a poor English dub.

Fobia is a well-crafted horror experience with great puzzles, a lot of mystery and tolerable shooting.

Unfortunately though, it all adds up to a survival horror experience that is hard to recommend. You may enjoy some of the puzzles and how the game looks. But other indie games have done it better. There’s promise underneath all the cruft, and I do hope there’s another crack at this from the team, but I can’t say I enjoyed much in Fobia outside of the visuals. Fobia reminded how hard it is to pull off a tight survival horror experience. I kept waiting for something to truly surprise me or show me a twist I hadn’t seen before. Ultimately, I wanted something more.

In game design wise, 'Fobia' is a great homage to the classic Survival Horrors such as Resident Evil. While the action part against the monster is rather sloppy, the hotel's level design and terrifying atmosphere are quite impressive.

Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel offers an embarrassment of riches for horror game fans, but throwing all of the best scary game mechanics into one title and hoping they make for a great game doesn't quite pan out. Still, this hotel should satisfy those players looking for some old-school scares, even if others may want to consider spending the night elsewhere.

FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel can be best described as a very competent and enjoyable alternative for gamers who enjoyed Resident Evil 7 or Village. It is certainly not perfect, but has nothing broken about it either. Its story is told effectively and has some genuine scares that will make your blood run cold. Classic horror fans will definitely appreciate what FOBIA: St. Dinfna Hotel offers.

Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel isn't a perfect game, but it is extremely satisfying. The game focuses above all on the atmosphere and the puzzles while the monsters look like were added without much thought. Without any guide, it will take you about ten hours to overcome the secret of St. Dinfna. If you like action games, you won't like your experience here. On the other hand, if you love to explore at a slow place to discover all its mysteries through puzzles and secret passages, Fobia will keep you spellbound.
