Level after level, Hi-Fi Rush introduces something new, whether it be a mechanic, scenario, character, or implementation of a song, that deepens my appreciation for it. It's relentless in its pursuit of being a phenomenal game and unendingly proves itself time and time again. At the end of every mission, I couldn't help but think of how games this expressive and big and bright seem a growing rarity, but if Hi-Fi Rush is any indication, they've got a bright and bold future ahead.
Hi-Fi Rush is a charming action game with a great art style, fun characters, and solid mechanics. Sometimes, that's all you need.

Despite its linear structure, there are plenty of hidden details to uncover, ensuring the experience is exciting. Hi-Fi RUSH is a rockin’ good time that invites every player to the party whether or not you’re into rhythm games or action games. It is a crowd-pleaser that finds a way to pull your heartstrings either with its soundtrack, story, or seamless gameplay. It is definitely a must-play for 2023 and can easily be one of the best games of the year, no two ways about it. Rhythm hybrid games will still be a hard sell for me, but if it is approached the same way, then Hi-Fi RUSH just set a standard for this novelty. It goes to show that a single gimmick alone doesn’t make a good game, but a combination of excellent mechanics and an entertaining story would rise above the cheap ploy.
Hi-Fi RUSH has been not only a surprise, but a very pleasant surprise. It cannot be hidden that in this writing we have been enthusiastic about the proposal of Shinji Mikami's team, who has shown with this game a versatility unknown to date. If you like third-person action games and you value the spice of using well-known songs and keeping the action at their own pace, you can't miss it.

You can’t see rhythm. No one can. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Whether you can read music or not, whether you’ve mastered an instrument or can’t manage to play Hot Cross Buns, you are a rock star. You may not know it, you probably don’t believe it. But you’ll tightly navigate those progressions, finesse those pull-offs, and slice through those harmonies until you do believe it. Hi Fi Rush is going to make you believe you are a rock star.
Hi-Fi Rush is the biggest Xbox surprise of 2023 and even the last few years so far. This game is undoubtedly one of the high-quality AAA titles this year. We can simply claim that we are dealing with a first-class rhythmic Persona, which will make many players interested in the hack and slash genre. Our suggestion? Be sure to play Hi-Fi Rush as soon as possible.

Considering the game was announced and released on the same day, Hi-Fi Rush is easily one of the most surprising games of 2023. Part of that is literal. The other, more important part, is just how good the game is. Hi-Fi Rush finds a magical sweet spot between rhythm games, stylish action, and lighthearted, character-driven platformers we don't see very often anymore, and by every measure, it comes out on top.
What likely started out as an Xbox and/or Bethesda executive thinking "Hey, wouldn't it be neat if we kept this game a secret and launched it during a special event?" has led to what could easily wind up as one of this year's GOTY contenders exploding onto the scene in spectacular fashion.
Hi-Fi Rush is an excellent break from the norm for the horror buffs at Tango Gameworks, meshing the energetic combat of a character-action brawler with the toe-tapping beats of a stylish rhythm game.
Hi-Fi Rush has proven to be a fun title with extremely satisfying gameplay. It seems almost absurd that a team like Tango Gameworks has managed to package such an experience, but when you look at the historian of legendary producer Shinji Mikami, everything makes sense. Hi-Fi Rush inherits that naïve spirit, totally devoted to fun and gameplay, typical of productions such as Viewtiful Joe and God Hand, of that Clover Studio that was a new home for Mikami and Kamiya after the abandonment of Capcom. Director John Johanas has succeeded in the feat, demonstrating a captivating and well-packaged vision.

Hi-Fi Rush opened 2023 with a very promising start and it’s hopefully a sign of things to come in the future. There are several difficulty options available; so don’t be afraid to drop it if you aren’t having fun. For fans of Viewtiful Joe, No More Heroes or the various River City titles, you will definitely find something to love here.
Hi-Fi Rush is immediately deemed an essential experience for gamers, lovers of a great hack-and-slash campaign, the rhythm-based connoisseur, or just a button mashing casual that wants to leap into action without cause. Quite possibly, this year's greatest video game thus far.
Not only is Hi-Fi RUSH an incredible looking title, it absolutely nails the rhythm action genre with superbly stylish gameplay, and a soundtrack you can't help but groove to.
A brilliant combination of rhythmic motions and a deep action-packed battle system make for a compelling adventure. Hi-Fi Rush is only let down by its writing and character development, or lack thereof.
