I can best summarize my review of Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key as such: this is easily Gust’s best Atelier game. Offering a fun and relaxing experience for those that want to craft and battle away, this is the best final chapter Ryza could ask for. And food for thought: it’s nice that the PlayStation 3 era of Japanese RPG is still with us in spirit.
So in closing, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key is a wonderful addition to an enjoyable franchise. The characters are fleshed out nicely and fully developed with long-lasting and strong relationships.
While I’ve grown fond of Ryza and her companions over the course of the past few games, I’m pleased to consider Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key a proper send-off for the characters we’ve come to know and love.
Ultimately, much like one of Ryza’s alchemical recipes, there are a lot of great ingredients that went into creating Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key. The game may not look perfect, but there’s a lot of heart and fun to be found, and the ability to finetune new weapons, armor, and combat items to your exact needs is unmatched.
Credit where credit is due, this is a charming game with a lot of love poured into it. When I got into the flow, it gave me a unique experience I’ve never quite found anywhere else. But I don’t recommend it to anyone who isn’t already a fan of the Atelier franchise. At least, not until people start putting their item crafting spreadsheets online.

Atelier Ryza 3 is the perfect sequel to the previous chapters. Without big news, the developers work on the best aspects and optimize them from all points of view, giving a third chapter in line with the previous ones, fresh, fun and exciting.

'Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key' is another great entry in a criminally underrated series from an overlooked developer. It builds upon the previous games to deliver one of the year’s most satisfying RPG conclusions.
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key is a well-earned conclusion to Reisalin “Ryza” Stout’s story, with its improvements upon the previous titles and systems that provide endless amounts of customization. It’s still a bit difficult to recommend this to newcomers, but this is a must-play for any fans of thighs, I mean this series. It’s a bittersweet farewell to Reisalin “Ryza” Stout and her eye-catching assets, and I look forward to Gust’s next entry in the Atelier series and whatever character design Toridamono comes up with next.

Atelier Ryza 3 is a game that makes good on its promises. We've spent years getting to know Ryza and her friends and learning more about their world. Now there's this pay-off that really feels fulfilling.
The Gust Corporation team managed to surprise us again, completing the phenomenal process of evolution that their IP had undergone since the first Atelier Ryza. Despite having inherited most of the mechanics from the second episode, the last fundamental piece of the trilogy has the merit of having speeded up and streamlined every single aspect of production, giving the player a decidedly more engaging rhythm.

Its gorgeously realised world is filled to the brim with quirky characters, vibrant environments, and a whole lot of charm. While its many interlocking systems (which are taught through tutorials that prove simultaneously verbose and unhelpful) may prove a barrier for newer players, persistence and a sense of curiosity are rewarded with a rich and deeply satisfying level of mastery. The core gameplay features – exploration, combat, synthesis, and key creation – feed into each other in a delicious loop that is at once addictive and relaxing. Atelier Ryza 3 is a joyous, cosy romp that will delight any JRPG fan looking for something refreshing.
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key is the pinnacle of the series and possibly one of the best Atelier games ever made. Its revolutionary open-world changes not only greatly improve the core gameplay experience, but also fill in the previously empty spaces of the game. The alchemy system in this game has also gained greater freedom due to the open world and key system. If you are a veteran of the series, you can easily skip the early game tutorial. New players can also gradually experience the joy of progressing and becoming stronger through the alchemy process.
