How could the Zelda series evolve and reinvent itself to reclaim its spot among the greatest games in the world? According to the Breath of the Wild book, by rewiring its main conventions and tapping them into the freedom template provided by the saga's very first chapter, adding to them the visual marvels that contemporary technology can achieve, the vastest space for exploration that has ever been created for a Zelda game and a perfect learning cycle that provides Link with an explosive potential for development.

This is it, folks. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Nintendo's Magnum Opus. It's not only the best Zelda game ever created, it's also one of the very best videogames in the history of the art. Games like this are so rare that it would be impossible to classify it as anything other than a masterpiece. Experience it at all costs.

The most special Nintendo game in years, Breath of the Wild is an incredibly polished mixture of myriad ideas we've seen before - but never in a package quite like this.

Simply put, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the best launch title I've ever played. It's captivated me more than any game with a system launch, and it's rocketed straight into number one on my all-time favourite Zelda games. You could play it on Wii U, where it's still a fantastic game — clearly the best on the console. But it's that little bit more special to have such an amazing, massive game on a handheld system. Wherever you play, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was worth the wait.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will go down as one of the best launch titles of all time. Yes, technically it's a Wii U game that was ported over to the Nintendo Switch, but Nintendo made the right decision in holding this game back. It perfectly compliments the Nintendo Switch and highlights why it has the potential to be such a great and versatile console. Many have doubted Nintendo's ability to bring this series into the modern age of gaming, but they've done that and taken it one step further in creating one of the best open-world action-adventure games ever made.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is without a doubt one of the best games and freshest takes in the series, and should be played by every Nintendo Switch owner. Whether playing docked or in handheld mode, the game is reminiscent of gaming bliss. There are frame rate issues in both modes, but dock mode certainly has more technical problems. Breath of the Wild has surprised me at every turn, and after the lackadaisical Skyward Sword, I’m elated to see the series try something new and become one of the best games in recent memory. I am disappointed that the overall narrative is lacking and Link’s lost memory since quite cliché, but the gameplay makes up for any shortcomings.

The new Zelda game is so big and so full of everything that it's impossible to write about all of that in a traditional review. Breath of the Wild is a true system seller, probably the best starting game in the history of gaming. Nintendo is back and if only this quality of game design is maintained, Switch will become THE console. No question.

Having played numerous RPGs over many years, it's tough to think of one that is as spellbinding and so moreish as this. A modern day marvel on the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is simply stunning.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild could very well gone down in history as the best The Legend of Zelda game ever made. I genuinely feel it is the best entry in the series I have ever played.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is hands down the most sophisticated, best open world game we have ever seen- and also the best Zelda game, the best Nintendo game, and quite possibly, the greatest game of all time as well.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the best Zelda games to date and it’s also the perfect game for the Nintendo Switch due to its portability. It’s a very well-crafted game with some wonderful gaming mechanics and nothing feels contrived or limited but rather, it creates a very engaging open-world experience and one that feels real on so many levels. So if you’re looking for a reason to buy a Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is almost the only reason you need. As I’ve kept spoilers to a bare minimum, the only other advice I would give is that do not rush playing this game, explore every area because it will make the experience a much more powerful one. Sure, some gamers have finished this title in a handful of hours but like any good relationship, give it plenty of time!

The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild is the best example to describe the power of Nintendo and its people, that can transform the beautiful games of the past into current masterpieces.

We had a lot of skepticism and kept our hype in check, but in the end we can't deny that Breath of the Wild took our breath away hour after joyous hour. With a ton of great content and gameplay, along with polish that you just don't see much of anymore, we just might have another Nintendo classic on our hands.

After reading my The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild review you can better understand how this is a big departure from the regular formula of the franchise, and it makes this the best game in the series. There is so much to do and so many ways to do it that the sky is the limit. Different players will approach puzzles in a different way, and the game won’t say “no you can’t do it like that” to you. With so much freedom, a ton of shrines to explore, many siquests to complete and lots of secrets to discover, you can spend well over 100 hours playing the latest release from Nintendo on your brand new Nintendo Switch. This is a must-buy for all Nintendo Switch owners and a game that will be on many GOTY lists.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has taken over A Link to the Past as my favourite game in the entire Zelda series. Therefore, Breath of the Wild has become what I consider to be the greatest game I have ever played.

Breath of the Wild is the first killer application available on Nintendo Switch, a true masterpiece that shows us once again how Nintendo is capable of creating a remarkable experience in such a common genre like the open-world adventures. If you own a Switch console, you can not miss Link's epic last journey.
