Critic Reviews for LEGO Bricktales VR
LEGO Bricktales was one of the best and purest versions of the brick building experience. On the Meta Quest 3, and especially in the AR mode, the game takes on a whole new life that comes very close to the real thing. The puzzles are challenging and the tone is lighthearted. Aside from some fiddly controls, LEGO Bricktales is more proof that the Meta Quest 3 is the VR headset to have.
Lego Bricktales VR pulls of an amazing trick, allowing you to play with gorgeous Lego sets floating around in your own home through the magic of mixed reality. Detailed and beautiful, while still being a fun and challenging game, I can't think of a better way to show off VR to stubborn non-believers. The potential of what is on display here is limitless.
The initial release of LEGO Bricktales was a novel idea that successfully translated the childhood favourite of many to a digital platform while stumbling due to its reliance on conventional controls. LEGO Bricktales‘ Quests’ debut fixes this and delivers a truly mesmerizing experience that not only has that cool factor from playing it in augmented reality but is, by and large, the definitive version of an already fun-to-play game.
LEGO Bricktales VR is an exciting sandbox game. It is not a lengthy game and can be completed in a single afternoon, provided someone has that amount of free time. It is a great introduction to the toys for those unfamiliar with the Lego brand or who’ve never used them. It feels like a softer introduction than something that uses an IP like something from J.R.R. Tolkien’s or George Lucas’s minds.
Lego Bricktales and VR are a perfect match. In virtual reality, the brick constructions seem almost tangible. It's simply fun to look at the detailed dioramas from different angles - especially in the Quest 3's passthrough mode, which places the game in your living room.

While not reinventing the wheel, LEGO Bricktales translates the beloved brick-building experience seamlessly to VR. Being able to fully examine and interact with digital Lego builds adds new engaging dimensions.
Lego Bricktales feels more at home in VR on the Meta Quest 3 than on other platforms, and it's really like building sets in your room.
To say that LEGO Bricktales impressed me is an understatement. The idea of playing with LEGO bricks in a VR environment was already great in my head, but I was completely taken over by how ClockStone Studio managed to mix diorama-like adventure segments with building puzzles in such a natural and addictive manner. I can’t even believe this wasn’t developed first and foremost with VR in mind; the transition was absolutely perfect.
