Sand Land is a competent and occasionally excellent anime tie-in game. It's a good way to experience the franchise for the first time, and even if you're not a Sand Land fan, I can see it scratching the itch for a simple, open-world experience. It might be a tad too easy for more hardcore gamers, but for younger players, it seems like a great introduction to open-world gameplay.

The video game adaptation of Sand Land brings one of Akira Toriyama's lesser-known works into the spotlight. It follows the source material well and cleverly expands on the story, but the gameplay is lacking.

Despite the dry environment, a refreshing experience, especially in the first hours. When you immerse yourself in the game and start burning through the story line, you can enjoy it and absorb a good plot and actions of the characters.

Sand Land's vehicular combat is entertaining from start to finish, but bizarre progression pacing and the repetitive nature of the side content makes this a hard sell for those approaching the series for the first time.

Sand Land for Xbox Series X|S not only does a great job bringing one of Akira Toriyama's arguably lesser-known works to life, but is also a lovely way to say goodbye to a man who has had an incredibly huge impact on Japan's manga and anime industry as well as the world of video games. Although it's not necessarily an evolutionary experience on the action RPG front, it should still be a fun ride from start to finish for fans of the genre and source material.

Sand Land delivers an entertaining adventure from start to finish. It gives us many reasons to adore it, from lovely characters to impeccable comedy timing. also vehicle customization and combat is fun. That being said world of Sand Land could have used more points of interests and activity for us to explore and boss fights could have been more challenging. Nevertheless, Sand Land is still worth experiencing.

SAND LAND has its merits in respecting and expanding the original work of the legendary Akira Toriyama. But when it comes to narrative and design, it fails in combat and exploration systems: as generic and uninteresting as a desert full of sand and... more sand.

SAND LAND has one of the best visuals that did the late legendary mangaka justice, controlling the vehicles is a treat to experience but sadly the weak storytelling and vehicles crafting system overstayed it's welcome, making some parts of this game boring, but beautiful to look at

SAND LAND is an unexpectedly beautiful game that's filled with heart, super-fun vehicle-based gameplay, plenty of laughs, and some of the most rewarding exploration out there. Definitely don't let its dry-looking world fool you into thinking any less. 🏜️

Sand Land is a visually stunning game with a heartfelt narrative that unfortunately stumbles in gameplay variety. Fans of Toriyama’s work will find much to love, while newcomers might find the combat repetitive. Nevertheless, it is a journey worth experiencing, especially for those who appreciate a well-crafted world and engaging story.

Sand Land is a imbalance game, because where e.g. it offers a nice upgrade upgrade system for vehicles with lots of collectible parts, at the same time it doesn't manages to present a richer roster of enemies.

Unfortunately, Sand Land doesn't manage to avoid the problems expected of a world that is, in every sense, an enormous desert with little to do but plenty to do again.

Overall, the genre-bending elements of Sand Land and its lovable cast of misfits all work in its favor. The story is engaging, and the ancillary content like developing Spino and taking down bounties is quite enjoyable. Vehicle combat and customization are highlights, but the real standout is how the game captures not just Akira Toriyama's art style, but also the spirit and humor of the manga and its characters. It may not be an instant classic, but Sand Land is some of the most fun you'll have this year.

Sand Land shows how good Akira Toriyama's storytelling and world building really was, unfortunately this is all bogged down with an empty open world filled with repetitive tasks and little to no reward for doing them.

While everything in Sand Land is good, nothing really excels; the gameplay and combat is generally fun, but gets repetitive and tedious after a while; the story is good and surprisingly mature compared to other Akira Toriyama works’, but sometimes gets too superficial, making the core message a bit weak.

Sand Land is primarily a story-driven base-building game with vehicle exploration elements. While quests and storyline add enjoyment, the game’s main focus feels like a grind due to repetitive dialogues and similar tasks. Despite this, it offers a somewhat enjoyable experience for those who appreciate abundant side quests and repetition.
