EA Sports FC 25 continues along the same path as its predecessor, but with a slightly faster and more decisive pace. The new focus on tactics could be the first step toward a more ambitious vision for the future of the series. Overall, this installment proves to be content-rich, relying on the usual winning features while introducing a new 5v5 mode that adds just the right touch to enhance the overall package.

The on-pitch gameplay takes a few steps forward in the right direction, empowering the defensive side of the game, but FC 25 stops short of taking necessary strides towards meaningful upgrades that could change the game for good. The continued apathy towards career mode, however, remains the biggest complaint. Gaping cracks in the quintessential mode have repeatedly been ignored for surface-level improvements — as if a new coat of paint would change the fact that the underlying wall is rotting. EA Sports FC 25, disappointingly, opts to do the same, even though a foundational change is long overdue. Over the past few years, EA's long-running football franchise has essentially embraced a live service strategy, with minor seasonal upgrades rolled out annually to an audience hooked to its unethical commercial model. The only difference is that EA asks you to pay full price every year for a “new” game.

EA Sports FC 25 is based on two elements. Will you like the new mode and have fun arranging new tactics? Then you will be delighted. Otherwise, there may be problems.

Despite numerous efforts and innovations, FC 25 remains in the shadow of FIFA's golden era. While promising new features like FC IQ and AI Behavior signal progress, the past few years have been challenging. The path ahead for the EA Sports FC series looks even more difficult as it strives to recapture the glory of its predecessor.

EA Sports FC 25 delivers on the usual incremental improvement model of this sports franchise. It's a solid football game with plenty of variety that fans won't be too conflicted about getting stuck into.

EA FC 25 introduces a variety of new features to this installment. With more strategic options, a new animation style, and a Rush mode, it's clear that this is a strong entry in the evolving series, pushing it even further forward. While we can expect improvements and bug fixes throughout the game's lifespan, concerns remain about the restricted movement of goalkeepers and the slightly slow gameplay. However, overall, it offers a fun and enjoyable experience.

EA Sports FC 25 builds on the great technological innovations of last year's edition and takes them a little further, making football more realistic and tactical. And you have much more and better control over it all. However, the game doesn't offer any major innovations to convince you that this is the edition you need to pick up.

EA Sports FC 25 is an exceptional football simulator, a more realistic and fun experience than in previous years, with welcome adjustments to the action on the pitch and enhancing the tactical mode of the sport like never before. FC 25 is a must-play for fans of the Breton sport.

EA Sports FC 25 marks a turning point for the better in the renewed soccer franchise. Of course, it drags some vices from the past, but it is far from those disastrous moments or those that showed a lack of interest by the followers of this type of game. We can say that foundations are being built for a total football experience that satisfies casual and demanding players, and that is saying a lot, as it breaks with the mediocre period of recent years. We are sure that this year's installment will entertain you more and that you will shout each goal with emotion as if it were real, so, believe it or not, there are more good than bad this year. Happy start of the soccer season!

EA Sports FC 25 has been the game that has received the most serious development among the football games released in recent years. The depth that FC IQ adds to the game and the revolution made in tactical sense will give great pleasure especially for those who like to read the game from the sidelines. However, it should not be forgotten that this is ultimately an EA Sports football game, if it can maintain the same pleasure after a patch or two, EA FC 25 can successfully write its name in the history of football games.

EA Sports FC 25 remains the top choice for football fans. This is largely due to the lack of competition, but there are still new features to be highlighted: the more realistic and precise gameplay, the more practical Career Mode and, the big highlight, the new Rush mode. Overall, the FC 25 innovates some details, without losing the familiarity that we have become accustomed to, both good and bad.

There are many adjustments in this year’s instalment of EA Sports FC, plenty of them minor and some of them a bit more obvious. I always come back to the fact though that it must be incredibly difficult to change a football game year on year without changing the gameplay loop. The stand-out addition for me is the addition of Rush in both Pro Clubs and Ultimate Team, allowing you to play five a side without those silly Volta power-ups from years gone by. If you’re on the fence about whether you want to spend your hard-earned on a game that may not differ much if you invest time in a particular mode, then I recommend playing the ten-hour trial.

EA SPORTS FC 25 brings tactical and visual improvements, delivering smoother gameplay and more intelligent artificial intelligence. Graphics are even more realistic thanks to Hypermotion, and the new "Rush Mode" guarantees fast-paced and strategic matches. Ultimate Team and Career Mode have also evolved, including major women's football leagues. For die-hard fans, it's worth the investment, but more casual players may prefer to wait for a sale.

The bottom line with EA Sports FC 25 is that the game is more of the same that we’ve had from EA Sports in recent years. Age-old bugs and glitches, weird inconsistencies when it comes to gameplay, and the game still has a complete imbalance between defense and offense.

EA Sports FC 25 is, in our opinion, a good exponent of the 30-year-old soccer series with the proper adjustments and new modes. We suspect that EA Sports should move to a less frequent release schedule, even every two years, with seasonal updates in between. Still, Rush mode is an excellent addition and, considering its extensive implementation in the game and specifically in FUT Ultimate Team mode, unlike Volta, bodes well for the future. That said, if you were expecting a radical change, you will be disappointed. The visuals are the same (it is only possible to choose between two different modes), the menus are the same (and they are full of bugs, glitches and sudden freezes) and the gameplay is largely the same, despite painstaking tweaks and refinements that have reduced some mechanics that were overused last year (while introducing others such as too-frequent replays that lead to real pinball). But that's part of being an annual buyer of FC or FIFA, and until EA Sports has a real contender in the market for soccer simulators or similar, don't expect incredible changes or an excellent experience.

EA SPORTS FC 25 not only maintains the tradition of the series, but also reinvents itself, even if the Rush mode is not that great. However, with significant improvements in graphics and gameplay, focusing more on strategy, in addition to the inclusion of more teams, stadiums and leagues, EA SPORTS FC 25 is a great game for soccer fans. I don't know if I'm being too optimistic, but so far, my experience with the game, especially in Career mode, has been well balanced and immersive, something that EA took a while to start thinking about.

With EA Sports FC 25, Nintendo Switch owners can look forward to the full range of new features, rather than a simple roster update. These include the addition of Rush mode, the new season system, women's leagues and gameplay improvements. If you don't feel that the console is at the end of its cycle during matches, it's quite a different matter in the menus and cinematics. Slowdowns are frequent, not to mention loading times, which remain a little long. For its part, the decision to separate the Ultimate Team market on the Nintendo console from other platforms considerably increases the frustration of building a team and taking on players. All in all, this is probably the only portable edition of this sports simulation, but if you own an Xbox, PlayStation or PC, it's best to opt for these versions.

EA SPORTS FC 25 is definitely an improvement from last year’s title, but not by much, especially when it comes to the on-field gameplay. It’s clear that EA placed more emphasis on their content, tactical gameplay, and more to increase the longevity of this game, and they have done very well in doing so. Plus, the new FC IQ system is an incredible addition to the game.
