Dynasty Warriors: Origins Reviews
Dynasty Warrior Origins is ideal for fans of the Musou subgenre, with a simple and direct action, although for me, I'm used to deeper gameplay and I found it somewhat repetitive and bland. That said, if you like to cause chaos with mass commbos, with hundreds of enemies on screen could be your game.

Regardless, Dynasty Warriors: Origins plants a flag down and marks itself to be a true contender for a great game this year. Even if the series has been the butt of a joke for gamers over the years, its strategic improvements and modernized gameplay gives Origins a true next-gen evolution of the franchise while keeping the same charms of its past. For fans of the series, Origins is an absolute must-play, and for new players, it sets the stage for an exciting future of fandom for you.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins reinvents the franchise with a single protagonist, refined combat, and RPG elements. It offers a fresh take on the classic formula while delivering engaging battles and a deeper story. Although the voice acting and early progression may be weak points, the overall experience is exciting and rewarding for both newcomers and series veterans.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins undoubtedly delivers if you’re looking for a game that allows you to unleash your inner warrior while embracing a larger-than-life narrative. Just be prepared for the cyclic nature of its core gameplay—it’s a hack-and-slash that demands a tolerance for repetition, yet rewards you with adrenaline-pumping moments that are hard to rival.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a very impressive addition to this franchise, and would even be a great entry point for anyone new to series as you don’t need to have played any of the previous series to understand or follow the story. With the variety of weapons, skills and many hours of gameplay I would say this is great value for money and a great game to relieve some stress with.
Dynasty Warriors Origins is one of the pleasant surprises of the year, after a very disappointing ninth installment, the series is coming back strong and in the best way possible! The studio took a big step forward with their storytelling, and delivered an excellent tactical fighting style that represents a return to the roots of the series with major improvements and additions, making it the best fighting style in the history of the series! The game may be marred by the character writing style and pacing issues that slightly extend the game's lifespan, but despite these issues, they were not a major hindrance to my enjoyment of the game and put it in a high position among this year's games.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins returns with a new approach to retelling a story from China’s Three Kingdoms period. In aspects like an overemphasis on the game’s lackluster protagonist, this approach has failed. Still, in other areas such as technical modernization and providing a smooth experience of intense and large-scale battles, its success is undeniable.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins succeeds in both reinventing and rediscovering the bombastic thrill of a series that had drifted from its path. Veterans will likely feel disappointed with some of the personalisation changes and smaller character pool, but Origins delivers the incredible thrill of 1 vs 1000 clashes. With a deepened combat system and brilliant level of performance, Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a welcoming spectacle for returning fans and newcomers alike.
Larger in scale but more intimate in story, Dynasty Warriors: Origins brings armies of thousands upon thousands of warriors to battle it out on screen. Battles feel more realistic than ever, while the focus on the early ages of the Three Kingdoms brings a much-needed refreshing view of a well-known story.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is arguably the best Musou game ever. It masterfully blends the series' gameplay staples with classic RPG mechanics, while still retaining an impressively detailed story and expanding its contents to unprecedented levels, both in quantity and quality. Omega Force and Koei Tecmo managed to craft a new beginning for this niche genre, both for newcomers and veterans, which is only hampered by the proverbial repetitiveness of Musou games.

The 9th game in the famous series by Koei Tecmo makes an impact the size of a Musou Attack. The new direction the game is going in is an interesting decision but does more than enough to keep you engaged and has the action-packed gameplay that diehard fans know and love.
Overall, Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a decent entry that offers a fresh take on the beloved hack-and-slash franchise. However, it is important to note that the series remains a niche experience, appealing primarily to players don’t mind overly repetitive games.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a successful revival of the series, blending its traditional strengths with modern ideas. Its engaging story, updated gameplay, and polished presentation make it a standout entry that honors the franchise’s legacy. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, Origins offers a captivating journey through one of the most dramatic eras in history.

Dynasty Warriors Origins is the first entry in the series for this generation of consoles, making the graphics leaps and bounds better than Dynasty Warriors 9, released in 2018. Incorporating several positive things from its predecessor, like the open-world feature, Origins infinitely improved on them.
Dynasty Warriors Origins is one of the best gaming experiences of this very young year. The combat is surprisingly deep, there’s an enjoyable variety of weapon where you’re sure to find a favorite, yet the game still encourages you to mix and match a bit. The special attacks are fun to use and the amount of enemies on screen is very impressive; despite some generic features. While it can get repetitve during long play sessions, it remains one of the more enjoyable games to play after a long day of work or school. If you’ve been hesitant to jump into the series, unironically, Dynasty Warriors Origins is great entry point. Highly recommended.
Most players expected Dynasty Warriors: Origins to be another action slasher based on a well-established formula. However, the developers decided to diversify the game by adding several fascinating innovations and improvements, which gave the series a second wind. This ensures that the game will not only reach the old fans tired of its repetitiveness but will also attract a significant number of new followers. It's definitely a game worth playing.

I have incredibly conflicted feelings about it, moving from joy to disappointment hourly. If you’re a lapsed DW fan, this might be the game for you. I miss playing as the cool heroes, but I don’t miss levelling them all up. I miss the variety in weapons. I miss the weirdness. This is (a bit) more grounded, fake sorcery aside, yet also only barely touches the big battles that are expected. This is a new direction for the series, and I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad direction. Dynasty Warriors is dead, long live Dynasty Warriors.
The narrative is still a jumbled mess, but the surprisingly deep combat system and breathtaking battles make this one of the finest entries in the long-running franchise.

When all is said and done, Dynasty Warriors Origins represents a significant step forward for the musou genre. Omega Force has crafted an experience that stays true to the series' core identity while introducing a wealth of meaningful innovations.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a brilliant reboot of the series. Playing as a central character instead of hopping between classic heroes works. It looks damned good most of the time, sounds great, and features an excellent mix of group and single-fighter combat. For those new or returning to the series you’ll find dozens of hours of combative bliss.
