Nice Day for Fishing Reviews
There's a lot to love in Nice Day for Fishing, but it's marred by repetition. By the time you've cast your line a few dozen times or run about the map from end to end to fetch whatever the wizard Baradun needs, the magic fades. What works well in the short NPC Man skits doesn't entirely hold up across the course of a full-length game. Still, even though it might not be the legendary catch you're looking for, Nice Day for Fishing is far from a throwaway, especially so if you're a Viva La Dirt League fan. In short bursts, it's a very enjoyable time. It is indeed a nice day for fishing… but not a nice week.
Nice Day for Fishing blends RPG mechanics with fishing in a way that feels both natural and refreshing. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet offers a surprisingly deep and rewarding experience. Whether you’re following the main story, upgrading your gear, or just hanging out by the water to see what you can catch, there’s a lot to love here. This is a game that understands the joy of quiet progression and mixes it with creative twists on genre expectations. If you’re looking for a unique RPG with heart, humor, and hooks (literally), this one’s worth casting a line for.
Nice Day for Fishing has very unique premise and foundation, though bogged down with tedious gameplay and missing gameplay features that are typically found in this genre. Add a point if you’re into Viva La Dirt League, maybe, but otherwise, I hope they make a second game and deliver a better overall product.
Nice Day For Fishing is an enjoyable game that's best played in short spurts. The battles keep you on your toes with a consistent challenge throughout. There's always deeper areas to explore and plenty of resource gathering available. However, it does tend to drag out with the repetitive tasks. But aside from that minor quibble, anyone that's been looking for a Fishing RPG can't go wrong here, especially if you are a major fan of Epic NPC Man.
Nice Day for Fishing could’ve been a quick gag game. It could have been made for fans of Viva La Dirt League to laugh at. But it’s far more than that. This is a full experience—thoughtful, weirdly wholesome, and genuinely fun to sink time into. It reminded me so much of the first time I played Runescape. I used to bike to the library with my older brother to play on the computers there… That warm, nostalgic feeling came rushing back as I explored. The fishing battles, the spells, the treasure hunting—all of it made me feel like a kid again.
Nice Day for Fishing is an interesting and enjoyable fishing game that takes advantage of its funny concept and surprisingly deep mechanics to create a surprisingly unique fishing game. It can be fairly repetitive with its fetch quests, but it’s still a worthwhile venture for those whose interest is piqued.
