If you enjoyed the base game like I did, the best bits of Pokémon Legends: Z-A are still present in Mega Dimension. The combat is still engaging, the characters you live and work with are still endearing, and the new Pokédex is fun to complete. This DLC, much like Z–A itself, feels like it will be a Marmite one.

Mega Dimension adds more to Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but doesn't necessarily make the game much better.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension offers a challenge for experienced trainers wanting to push those battle skills to the limits. Beyond level 100 critters for the first time? Check. It's tough and requires a fair bit of grind to get through the new Mega Evolution battles. Returning faces from the Pokédex and new forms are a joy to catch, too. Mega Dimension is ideal for battle enthusiasts and competitionists, but can fast become repetitive with little payoff to really keep pushing through once the favourites have been caught.

Mega-Dimension is a DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A with good ideas and new Mega Evolutions, but it is weighed down by a weak story, content cut from the base game, and recycled environments.

Mega Dimension is a DLC clearly focused on the endgame, designed for those who want to continue enjoying Pokémon Legends: Z-A after the credits roll. It offers more challenge, more Pokémon, and a solid, system-based structure, albeit at the cost of some repetition.

While maybe not as spectacular as the main story, Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimensions adds loads of content and Pokémon to the game.

Overall, the Pokémon DLC is good. It offers solid additional content and adds many new Pokémon to the game. The mechanic of crafting Donuts to obtain different bonuses is fun, and exploring Hyperspace in search of items—and especially Pokémon—is very cool. For fans of the franchise, this new content delivers a very interesting experience. Now, setting aside my fanboy side and speaking more objectively: the DLC is not worth the price. If it had a price closer to what we saw in the Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, then it would be more aligned with what it actually offers. But, at the current price, the cost-benefit ratio doesn't hold up.

Mega Dimension adds a lot of content for players who already enjoy Pokémon Legends: Z-A. There are more Pokémon to collect, new Mega Evolutions, and a boost in difficulty that keeps things challenging. Its story and setting don’t offer much that’s new, and many of the base game’s characters don’t get much time in the sun. For players who loved the original, there’s plenty here to enjoy and experiment with, but if the base game didn’t grab you, this DLC isn’t likely to change that.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension does a lot right, bringing a decent amount of new side content and returning Pokémon into the mix alongside great new Mega forms and a pleasantly refined system for finding Shinies. The story lags a bit, but the total package is still worth your time.
