The Blood of Dawnwalker Reviews
The Blood of Dawnwalker is not perfect, but it's a really great RPG you have to play. When the credits roll, it doesn't demand a replay, you desire it. Bugs and technical issues on PC really hold it back from being more, but it's still one of my favorites of the year. It's well-written, with an interesting world, and fun systems to sink your teeth into. Rebel Wolves has made a memorable and earnest game, and I'm genuinely excited for the sequels that are already planned. Simply put, The Blood of Dawnwalker has stakes, and unlike vampires, doesn't suck.
Drawing inspiration from various video games while also following its own philosophy, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* stands out as one of the most interesting open-world RPGs of recent years. It isn't perfect, but it offers an adventure unlike few others in the genre.

In some ways, The Blood of Dawnwalker feels a bit old-school in its design, but once we settled into its rhythm, we found a satisfying, if slightly clunky RPG that is well worth a recommendation from us. The time limit means we can’t be the all-in-one hero, and there’s a story here that…ahem..sank it’s fangs into us early on.
Despite its severe optimization issues, the courage to create mechanics that challenge modern industry standards honors the legacy of its main influences. The Blood of Dawnwalker stakes its claim among the great open-world RPGs.

For a debut project, Rebel Wolves aimed high—very high. Perhaps a little too high, even, given the numerous technical issues. Still, I consider The Blood of Dawnwalker to be an exceptional RPG with an intriguing storyline. One of its greatest strengths is the vast freedom of action it offers, to the point where an adventure that would normally take about ten hours can easily stretch to three times that length, depending on how much you want to explore. To get the most out of the game, it’s best not to overthink things and just go with the flow. Little by little, minor quests turn into major events, leading, among other things, to duels against Brencis’s generals. The combat and loot system is also very enjoyable, with great responsiveness, despite a limited roster of enemies. Unfortunately, the whole experience is weighed down by technical execution that lacks polish and a few missed opportunities in terms of consequences. If you’re willing to overlook a technically uneven game, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* should be a treat—even more so if you enjoy the vampire theme, which is very well executed here. When it comes to vampires, gaming has been a little short on options lately. So, if you’ve been looking for a great vampire-themed RPG since the days of the underrated Vampyr, you absolutely shouldn’t miss The Blood of Dawnwalker. Hell, you shouldn’t miss it if you love RPGs in general, because it’s an engaging, well-written game packed with compelling stories and memorable characters.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a game the writer was overlooking, but one that, once experienced, isn't easily forgotten. The world created by Rebel Wolves is incredible, and it manages to fight on equal terms with masterpieces like The Witcher 3. The narrative is certainly one of the production's strengths, even though it's tied to the time mechanic, which will need significant refinement for the next chapter.

A haunting narrative that explores the psychology of monstrosity through personal reflection and moral decay.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a great attempt at creating a much-needed new IP and despite some issues with its quests, the superb divergent storylines and real-time directional combat will keep you thoroughly invested.
The Blood of Dawnwalker comes highly recommended because it’s an RPG with its own distinct identity, thanks to several ideas that work very well together. The protagonist’s duality, the time system, and the weight of the decisions players make set it apart from many other open-world games. It’s not without its issues, but its strengths outweigh its flaws. This is a dark fantasy adventure with personality, great ideas, and a more than promising foundation.

As someone who went with little to no expectations, “The Blood of Dawnwalker” is an very much welcoming surprise, with good writing, impactful choices and a very fun combat system — even if sometimes flawed or undercooked in certain areas, like stealth mechanics.

The Blood of Dawnwalker brings innovation to modern open-world RPGs by introducing a 30-day system in which every choice consumes time and actively shapes the story. Despite featuring combat that is merely functional and noticeable visual compromises in the PS5 Performance Mode, the game stands out thanks to its impeccable writing and memorable side quests. The result is a memorable and highly recommended RPG that turns time management into its greatest strength.

The Blood of Dawnwalker combines time pressure with exploration and meaningful choices, constantly forcing you to decide what to prioritize. Despite its shortcomings, its human-vampire dynamic, moral ambiguity, and bold RPG choices make for a distinctive experience.

It's easy to see why Rebel Wolves feels confident this will be a massive multimedia franchise. There is a rich foundation to build from, and Coen is an immensely compelling tragic hero whom I would follow into any adventure. It isn't perfect, but it is the perfect start to something greater.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an ambitious and remarkably confident debut, carried by a strong story, memorable characters, difficult moral choices, and a beautifully atmospheric world. Its time-management system creates meaningful consequences and replayability, while the day-and-night combat offers plenty of build variety, even if some progression systems feel overly complicated. Repetitive side activities, occasional technical issues, and familiar open-world design hold it back, but Rebel Wolves still delivers a compelling RPG that left me eager to see what the studio does next.
