Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] Reviews
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] is a massive game bundle that encapsulates one of the most ambitious RPG franchises of the last 20 years. This collection stands out for offering the definitive versions of the saga's main titles, visually memorable world design, an exceptional soundtrack, and a vast amount of content—including the Re Mind expansion and other extras that cover story developments from titles no longer available on the market. However, the collection omits key installments like Melody of Memory and other perspectives from the Chi mobile saga. Additionally, converting titles such as 358/2 Days and Re:coded into mere movies devoid of gameplay diminishes the collection's value in terms of game preservation. Despite this—and considering its price—this collection represents a great opportunity to get ready for the launch of Kingdom Hearts 4.

And if Kingdom Hearts was ever a part of your life, you probably know exactly how I felt. Some games show their age. Some turn into classics. Others fade into memories. Kingdom Hearts managed to be all three at once.

A monumental, content-packed gateway to the Xehanort Saga, with thrilling combat and smooth PS5 performance. Newcomers get an essential journey; returning fans, however, will find little reason to buy it again—and the lack of Portuguese localization is a major disappointment.

Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] is an incredible package that brings nearly the entire saga together in one place. I would have liked to see a performance and frame rate toggle for Kingdom Hearts III, and the $75 asking price is a little steep considering how cheap this collection is on other platforms. At the end of the day, though, it’s Kingdom Hearts finally on Switch 2, and it’s hard to ask for much more.
At the end of the day, this is still Kingdom Hearts on the Switch 2. The fact that these games are finally getting the chance to play natively is ultimately a win. These games hold a special place in people’s hearts, and the fact that we’re getting another platform, especially in handheld mode, is always a win.
An expansive but uneven collection that brings Kingdom Hearts’ long, convoluted journey to modern platforms in the most convenient package yet.

In terms of content, the Kingdom Hearts I-III Collection is arguably one of the greatest compilations in video game history: seven full games, three movies, and hundreds upon hundreds of hours of enjoyment and passion to experience—or re-experience. However, we recommend this package primarily to two groups: die-hard fans of the franchise and newcomers (or near-newcomers) looking to prepare for Kingdom Hearts IV. For other players, it is hard to find a compelling reason to buy the collection; there are virtually no new features, and many of the games are easily available on PlayStation at a lower price—albeit without the minor enhancements found in this re-release. Ultimately, it is a highly subjective matter.

While I'm glad that The Kingdom Hearts Collection [1〜3] exists, it has some caveats existing owners must consider, like the lack of save transfers (outside of the cloud versions), which is frustrating. There's no easier way to play the series to completion now, and frankly, it's about time current gen had its moment with these ports. There are hundreds of hours of games and cinematics to experience, with some of Square Enix'smost ambitious work from the early aughts on display.
Kingdom Hearts Collection finally gives Nintendo players native versions, with most titles running smoothly at 60 FPS. However, inconsistent performance in III and 0.2, minimal Switch 2 specific enhancements, and the missing Melody of Memory keep this otherwise comprehensive package from being definitive.
KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] is a wonderful bundle of everything Kingdom Hearts, and on the Switch 2 it's just perfection.
Kingdom Hearts [I~III] on Xbox is a magical journey that combines vibrant action, emotional storytelling, and the unique charm of Disney and Square Enix, delivering an unforgettable experience for both veterans and new players.

KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III] is an extremely comprehensive compilation that works very well both as an entry point for new players and as a way for longtime fans to revisit the franchise, with visual improvements, higher resolution, better performance, and faster loading times, as well as the inclusion of all the content needed to follow the story. Although some content is presented in the form of movies or compilations of cutscenes, the collection delivers an excellent experience overall.

Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] on the Nintendo Switch 2 brings the heart of the beloved series to the Nintendo Switch 2 in one magical package. The collection is a positive experience in handheld mode, running smoothly, loading quickly, and feeling fantastic, making it a great way for veterans and newcomers to experience the franchise once more.
The recommendation for this collection will depend on the customer's history. If you already own these games on other platforms, the purchase ends up having little added value in comparison. But, if it's your first experience with this universe, it becomes very, very easy to recommend and suggest that you dive in without thinking twice.

After 24 years, KINGDOM HEARTS can still evoke the same magic as seeing Sora for the first time, but nostalgia alone doesn't justify buying this collection yet again. Sora remains a constant through shifting console generations and changing lives, but behind this door, there is virtually nothing new. While KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I–III] is an excellent overview for newcomers, it offers little to returning fans. After countless remasters, it is time to move on from the past and look to the future—hopefully with KINGDOM HEARTS IV.

The Kingdom Hearts Collection I–III finally brings the series to Switch 2 natively, free from the limitations of the previous cloud version. With flawless performance, short load times, and over 200 hours of content for completionists, this is both the definitive way for newcomers to catch up before Kingdom Hearts IV and an easy recommendation for longtime fans wanting to revisit the saga.

Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] is an excellent way to experience most of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, whether for the first time or for the umpteenth. Most of the bundled games deliver essentially perfect performance on the Nintendo Switch 2, while the more recent games still maintain consistent enough frame rates to please most. Being able to play the entire franchise on the go is a thrilling prospect, and I’ll likely be doing so for a good long while to come. This is a great way to get ready for Kingdom Hearts IV, and I’m sure many Nintendo-exclusive fans will be doing just that with this top-notch bundle.
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] is one of the best ways to experience or revisit Sora’s saga, bringing together an impressive amount of content and running very well on Nintendo Switch 2. The age gap between the different entries is noticeable, as are some questionable narrative choices and the lack of Brazilian Portuguese subtitles. Even so, few collections can deliver such a long, peculiar, and emotional journey.
