Worms W.M.D Reviews
Worms W.M.D. isn't the most original entry in the series. Rather, it's a modernised version of the earlier games. It may not be the best single player game either, but couple it with the portability and various multiplayer options of the Switch, Worms brings a fun and frantic game that is always best shared.
Finally, a true sequel that stands on the same playing field as Worms: Armageddon. It’s the most customisable game in the series yet with added mechanics that actually improve the gameplay. The experience is great regardless of how you play it, but nothing quite beats a room full of mates in stitches after you completely miss-time a Holy Hand Grenade. If you don’t have any mates around, then you can always take your little army online to rank up or earn a new gravestone in the campaign. Either way, it’s safe to say that Worms W.M.D is the best sequel the genre has had in years. Let’s just hope Team17 doesn’t break the experience by bombarding it with paid downloadable content.
Worms WMD pays homage to its roots and the addition of crafting, buildings and vehicles add a few interesting twists to this classic. Worms is all about multiplayer and the lack of online play with friends is a real shame though getting pals together for a local match is as fun as its ever been and the best worms in a very long time.
Explosive action combined with the wacky humour of the Worms series makes W.M.D a fantastic game on the Nintendo Switch. If you're in it for single player you'll get bored quickly, but stick around for multiplayer action and you'll be playing this for years.
The developers at Team17 in spite of the many years, continue to maintain the reputation of the project, Worms with the W. M. D all slightly different, they gave me back my 2000, only in the new world, with new visuals and gameplay elements, the only difference is that now I play Worms anywhere and with anyone, not spat the basement that is 17 years ago.

In the end I must say that I’m extremely impressed with the level of care and effort that has been put into making Worms W.M.D. worthwhile. With a series like this it seems like it can be easy to get comfortable and to phone in a new iteration with better graphics and sound but Team 17 has really shown an investment in this title that’s inspiring. By adding to the game in pretty well all directions they’ve managed to take an already-fun series and make it compelling for just about anyone to check out!
Worms W.M.D offers a fresh take on the classic Worms games that manages to update it for the modern age without changing the gameplay that made the series such a hit. It's a great title for fans and newcomers alike.
There's little else on the Switch that can match the chaos that Worms W.M.D. creates, making this new edition a game worth picking up as soon as possible.
For a longtime Worms player, Worms W.M.D. feels like finding and putting on your old favorite jeans — comfortable, familiar and feels like home. Worms W.M.D is best played with a bunch of friends, but the single-player content isn't too bad and will be a challenge to fully complete.
Worms W.M.D has been an absolute blast. Removing the 3D and physics based ideas that its lesser cousins had endowed and bringing back the 2D over-the-top carnage was what Worms needed to revitalise the franchise.
Worms W.M.D is a great game. The game is extremely fun. Recommended to everyone.
Worms W.M.D sets a new bar for the long-running franchise. A new engine and art-style provide an improved foundation compared to Worms Battlegrounds. The new editions of buildings & vehicles solidifies that Worms W.M.D will keep the chaos entertaining for as long as you play it.
"Brilliantly building on the success of Armageddon, Worms W.M.D. is the best game in the series to date. Both charming, intelligent while bulging with hilarious off the cuff remarks and quirky accents, Worms W.M.D. brilliantly incorporates the gameplay we’ve come to know and love with a mixture of exciting new additions thrown in for good measure".
This is classic Worms gameplay with enough new features to make it feel fresh again. Still, the lack of true evolution stops it from feeling like the instant classic that the earliest games in the series were. However, when you're having this much fun blowing up your enemies with tanks and banana bombs who can argue about originality?
Worms W.M.D. is everything we love about the franchise updated to today's standards with a few awesome new features.
Worms W.M.D is a successful reimagining of the long running artillery strategy series, mixing Armageddon‘s colorful visuals and tight gameplay with some welcome additions. Team 17 has created a new classic, easily recommended for both newcomers and longtime fans of the franchise.
Worms: W.M.D may not pack the glitziest graphics or a compelling narrative, but the consistently hilarious blend of wiggly warfare and wealth of wacky weaponry make it stand out from the pack. If you’re a veteran of the series who’s been waiting for these segmented superstars to return to their former glory, look no further than Worms: W.M.D. And if you’re a newcomer looking for a bit of lighthearted destruction, there’s never been a better time to enlist.
Worms WMD is truly the most definitive version of Worms bringing with it a lovely set of graphics and all the Worm carnage you could ever want.
Both veterans of the series and newcomers have plenty to look forward to in this classic version of Worms
Worms W.M.D is an extremely entertaining and addictive game that can stir up every party. These worms have something to say after more than twenty years since their creation.
