The overall presentation is a futuristic pixel art masterpiece, while the synth techno soundtrack is varied, tense, moody and constantly thrilling. Failing however regularly never becomes dull and whether roguelikes, lites or procedurally generated games float your proverbial boat, NeuroVoider has charm, addictive and explosive gameplay with a vibrant cyborg chic aesthetic. Despite ticking a lot of popular genre boxes, it manages to dig its mechanical feet in on its own merits due to frantic action, satisfyingly tight controls and a wide range of customisation through parts and weapons. While the idea of a roguelike RPG shooter might sound like a bit of a mish mash, NeuroVoider is an immensely enjoyable experience if you want to invest time in the customisation or just go in arcade style, all plasma cannons and laser beams blazing.

Bringing NeuroVoider to the Switch was a real no-brainer for Flying Oak, it's a good slice of rogue-like action for this terrific machine.

As both a solid local multiplayer twin-stick shooter and a Roguelike game, NeuroVoider is a good buy.

All manner of electronic tunes, that somehow always fit the level and scenario, elevate the experience tremendously.

Insert your brain into one of the three robot classes available on NeuroVoider and turn your enemies into junk. In this game there are many genres such as roguelike, shoot'em up and RPG, in a frenetic combination added with a soundtrack that increase the action to unsuspected limits.

If NeuroVoider wanted to push the roguelike genre into RPG territory it certainly leaves a good impression at that. While the difficulty level often cranks up in a way that goes too far for many, this frantic game has plenty to keep its players clinging on to it like to their dear lives, which are not taken very seriously in Neurovoider's world.

Neurovoider is retro in the best and worst ways. It’s brutally hard, simple to learn yet difficult to master, and is agonizingly repetitive. It’s fun for those looking for a challenge, but it isn’t for everyone.

NeuroVoider is an addicting twin-stick shooter, with plenty of replay value if you have friends or family that enjoy local multiplayer. I really dig the game's aesthetics, and the slight bend of the visuals give it a classic game feel. There are tons of different weapons and equipment pieces to combine, each with their own unique colors and visual appearance. The lack of online multiplayer is disappointing, but I've enjoyed playing through daily runs but would have also liked to see more things carry over to new runs outside of the stat screen. The nemesis enemy is a good step, but failing to reach that level on the next run means you lose everything.

Noisy, tough, but ridiculously entertaining, Neurovoider will have you praying for the robot apocalypse.

NeuroVoider is a wonderful game to play either by yourself, or with three of your friends in the local co-op system. It will quite easily scratch the itch of both casual gamers and the more hardcore ones with equal coverage, especially if you hit up some of the daily runs.

NeuroVoider is a fun release, but I do think there are better twin-stick shooters available on the PlayStation 4. While being a roguelike will be to the taste of gamers that like a challenge, this will also ward off some other looking for a more casual experience.

NeuroVoider is a fun game on PS4 that those of you who love twin-stick shooters will get to enjoy. The roguelike elements are not for everyone but if you enjoy having to start over when your run is over, you’ll certainly feel at home with this one. The daily challenges will keep you coming back for more, and some of you might even enjoy that part of the game the most!

Neurovoider is an exciting addition to the Switch library of eShop titles. Just under $14 will buy a game with surprising levels of depth and player choice. Even those apprehensive at the thought of playing a roguelike, either due to its difficulty or its unpredictability, should find plenty to like with Neurovoider. At the very least, it provides several hours of entertaining play, either solo or with friends. At best, it might prove to be your next gaming addiction.

This combination of factors doesn't make NeuroVoider a particularly revolutionary title, but it does make it a fantastic example of how all the things so popular within the indie scene can be accomplished to a highly satisfying degree in a single package.

NeuroVoider is the textbook definition of “git gud.” Though some may balk at its challenge and grind, those who stick with it will get absorbed in the search for the perfect run.

Neurovoider is a very fun arcade-style twin-stick shooter with plenty of things to enjoy. The separate main builds play differently, and the customization and upgrade options for every one thanks to all the loot you can get will make each run feel a bit different. It's roguelike nature, and randomization might not be for everyone, but if you give this one a go on Nintendo Switch, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

As a fan of the RPG genre, I love how strategy based thinking has been perfectly mixed with heart pounding action. The biggest concern with Rougelike permadeath is avoiding the feeling of staleness and there is no concern of that here. For one of the best Indie experiences on the Switch so far, the small investment into learning the complexity of the inventory system is more than worth it.

NeuroVoider is a very strong example of an older genre being brought back to life with modern game techniques. Gameplay is filled to the brim with heavy choices through RPG elements and player reflexes, making every action exciting to behold. While repetition is sure to set in eventually due to the game's procedual nature, the amount of content available through level layouts and loot choices make such an event a long way off.
