If you’ve been craving more Senran Kagura after Estival Versus or just want a fun brawler with anime titillation, Valkyrie Drive is for you.

Thousands of enemies ready to fight... and to be undressed by our character. A hack'n slash full of sexual content but also deep and fun... and visually poor.

Valkyrie Drive is an incredibly fun and addictive game. While it doesn’t have the same crazy narrative or visual flair as a Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, it certainly shares their vibrant and satisfying combat. Valkyrie Drive is also a game very focused on fan service, and overt sexual themes. For some people, that will be a deal breaker, but if that’s right up your alley and you’re looking for the next great touchscreen supporting Vita classic, then look no further than Valkyrie Drive.

Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni reminds me a lot of Senran Kagura Burst in that it feels like a rough draft of greater things to come. The combat is there, and the game looks amazing, but with an overabundance of uninteresting plot and a lack of original or compelling personalities, I found myself skipping over more of the game than I should have in order to keep myself entertained.

Valkyrie Drive -Bhikkhuni- is a fun foray into fan service and brawler style fighting brought down by poorly written story content and a lack of enemy variety.

A decent action game, but one weighed down by its terrible plot, crummy characters, and off-putting attempts to be racy.

If Valkyrie Drive -Bhikkhuni- sounds rather crazy, that's because it is. And that's why it astounds me how tedious  it manages to be the majority of the time.

Valkyrie Drive -Bhikkhuni- hopes the abundance of cheap titillation will distract you from the uninspired repetitive brawling. There isn't anything wrong with the game per se but it doesn't do anything you can't find done better elsewhere and that's a shame.

The deal with Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is that it's a risqué and sometimes outright perverted videogame. Undoubtedly, not everyone is going to appreciate being practically smothered in breasts, butts, and everything in-between. Some might be able to look past that and laugh at the absurdity of it all; others would do better to simply walk away. That said, this title has thrilling combat, an intriguing story, well-written characters, and enough content to last a long while.

Valkyrie Drive is the sort of game that you'll either love or loathe, and that's going to come as no surprise to those of us who fall into the category of the former. The important thing about this game is that despite what anyone has to say about the various stages of nudity, it's perfectly playable and delivers exactly what it sets out to – boobs, butt, and brawling.

This feels like the natural successor to Senran Kagura. The ecchi elements of Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni will be a deal breaker for many, but doesn't mean there isn't a quality game beneath the T&A. The combat is dynamic enough to make for addictive play, the story is decent, and most importantly of all, the fan service is fantastic. There are some problems—repetitive gameplay, long loading times and translation issues being chief amongst them—but they aren't noticeable enough to overly mar the final product.

However perverted Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni may be, it manages to hold out quite well as a fighting game. While the majority will be here undoubtedly for the ‘visual’ treats, which this game delivers flawlessly, it’s still good to know that the game has enough substance even after the jiggly boob novelty wears off. Valkyrie Drive may very well be a series we will hear from a lot more in the future.

I was first exposed to the franchise from watching the Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid anime series which led me to start with a negative bias coming into playing Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni. Thankfully, Bhikkhuni was a much better experience than Mermaid ever was. Despite the story being quite lacklustre, the real gem should be the gameplay and the diversity of options available.

Overall it’s a game that aims itself for a particular audience and while I’m part of the hack n slash part of that audience, I’ve grown up from the days in which my teenage self would adore this game. I can’t get onboard with the abundance of sex jokes and barely legal advances upon the in game characters or even the strip teases mid fight.

Even for fans of the Senran Kagura, or Kenichirou Takaki’s works in general, Valkyrie Drive is just a massive step back in gameplay. Graphical presentation is really the only thing the title has going for it…and the only thing saving it from getting a lower score.

Valkyrie Drive has seriously impressed me I don’t think I was expecting to like this game as much as I did. I seriously despise the fan service-ey type anime that’s always around and yet I liked this because of it’s almost self-aware, raunchy nature. If you want a dumb little action game and you have a lot of time to spend check this game out on either PSVita or PC

In the end, despite its anime counterpart taking perversion to the next level yet stopping just before being considered pornagraphy, this game is actually one of Takaki’s tamer games of the giant breast hyper battle “genre”. Sure, it still contains the usual mechanic of clothing being ripped off and the small cinematic that comes with it is still the same as the changing dressing room mechanics. But despite all of the sexual appeal, there’s a good gameplay mechanic underneath that just can’t seemingly take off the way the game wants, which is sort of disappointing.

While the game definitely won’t appeal to a very wide player base, it certainly isn’t poor. Disproportionately cleavaged characters and all, I’d call this something of a guilty pleasure game. While I may not go out boasting about it, according to the trophy system apparently I am now officially “The Best of the Breast” and “The Backdoor King”, but I certainly had fun playing it.
