Calling All Units is a fairly basic expansion to The Crew, offering very little in the way of content. But its new PvP chases help turn it into the MMO it was originally meant to be.

An expansion that doesn't offer enought variety and new features as we would have loved.

Calling All Units is not the expansion that the players were looking for. The chases between the police and players are very repetitive missions. Only the chases in the free mode are entertaining.

Ultimately, splitting the difference between the highs and lows of the new content leaves the expansion feeling a little middle of the road.

The Crew: Calling All Units is a police-focused extension that also includes Wild Run. This expansion adds a new history mode with a long duration, and whose main objective is to show us the new mechanics of the game. Unfortunately it is not perfect as it seems and failures' details as the vehicles' physics could be better.

Overall, “Calling All Units” is a neat expansion to add to The Crew, but unless you’ve got a sufficient in-game credits you’ll either need to buy crew points with actual money or grind through events to afford the vehicles you’ll need to complete the additional missions. Gameplay-wise the upgraded pursuits are fun to play and the delivery events are enjoyable too, although they do get repetitive. The new police vehicles look great and handle well too, and for those gamers who haven’t finished the base storyline yet, the expansion adds some additional flavour to the game.

The Crew’s newest expansion whilst fun on occasions fails to deliver on its police-themed concept

This might be worth more or less for your money due to the extra content of Wild Run, depending on whether you already had the that DLC pack. Calling All Units doesn’t really have enough to warrant the full price, so you might want to wait unless you’re after Wild Run too.

You can describe this DLC as more of the same, except you're playing as a cop for the first time. The new modes might be labelled differently, but they're all very similar in their gameplay and challenges. The real fun in this DLC is the online experience with other players, as long as you ignore the weak story, and the need to collect huge amounts of money to finish all competitions.

The Crew: Calling All Units is good for anybody looking to spice up the standard or Wild Run edition of The Crew as they await its sequel coming in 2018, but it's not a necessity.

Calling All Units doesn’t set out to do anything new, it’s pretty much an online only version of Need for Speed: Pursuit. The new mechanics of chasing down others online with a group of others is indeed fun, and for the most part the online does work. The story does nothing exciting whatsoever, but it does teach the new mechanics and how they work. Fans of The Crew will likely get something out of this, but it's not nearly enough to turn The Crew into an essential game, either.

There is a lot of fun to be had in The Crew, calling all units if you are prepared to go find it and to overlook some of its shortcomings.

Even if you’re a fan of The Crew, I highly suggest just playing the free parts of The Crew: Calling All Units unless you absolutely cannot do without a shiny new police car.
