Splasher Reviews
For a first title, Splashteam has shown that they are more than capable of bringing some original ideas to one of gaming’s oldest genres.
All told Splasher is a smartly designed, tight platformer that offers up hours of replay value on top of the creative ideas it delivers. It takes the Super Meat Boy template and builds upon it in a notable way, creating an experience that feels just the right amount of familiar and fresh. Though there isn't a whole lot to write home about when it comes to the presentation, the core gameplay is more than enough to keep you engaged. We give this one a strong recommendation, especially to those who are looking to dip their toes into the twitch platforming genre. Splasher is easy enough to pick up, yet difficult to master, and stands as a worthy addition to the Switch eShop.
If you love a challenge, and appreciate fantastic level design, this is most definitely for you.
While I do wish that there was a bit more of it, what's here is phenomenal. This is a game I'll definitely be revisiting for the foreseeable future. It manages to take a grab bag of various mechanics, lifted from its influences, and turn them into something totally fresh and unique. Splashteam knocked it out of the goddamn park with this one, and it's absolutely criminal that I never got around to playing it on other consoles before this. This is an essential release for genre fans and a great introduction for newcomers. The Switch may be jam-packed with quality eShop titles right now, but Splasher is genuinely something special. It would be a shame to see it lost in the crowd.
The sound design is easily one of the most redeeming qualities for an experience already enticing to the platform veteran.
Much like an actual modern-day factory, Splash Team's Splasher abides by an assembly-line philosophy.
Splasher is a fun and well designed game that makes use of its compelling and interesting mechanics to create an experience that will keep the players around the Nintendo Switch for a good amount of time. Thanks to its level design and to a correct distribution of challenges, Splasher manages to be a promising game that does not fail and which leaves the players asking for more.

An indie platformer where you play with colors. Saving co-workers and avoiding traps are great for shorter and longer sessions alike.

It's safe to say that Splasher ticks all the right boxes in all the right places. It has the potential to be the next big thing in platforming – I urge you, if you're a fan of the genre, then you must give Splasher a try.
Splasher is generally a great game that comes with fantastic visuals, smooth and fluid controls, addictive gameplay and plenty of variety.
A challenging, sometimes punishing platformer that blends a unique hook and fun movement with clever level design that is well worth a look. Don't let the innocent appearance fool you.
In the world we live in now where more and more platformers are popping up all the time, it's so nice to play through such a refreshing (and dare I say "fluid") adventure. Splasher's interesting paint cannon mechanic paired with the excellent level design will have you bouncing through each level feeling like a boss from start to finish. If you like a great challenge, charming animations and a new take on an old genre, look no further.
Splasher is a very colorful and fun 2D action platformer with plenty of content to enjoy. Once you get into the groove of things and you start to 100% level after level, you'll see why it's a very addictive experience. Before you know it you would have completed all stages in the game and rescued all Splasher from Le Decteur, ready to do it all over again as you aim at landing a spot at the top of the time trial leaderboards.
Splasher is a creative, fun, and competent 2D platformer. It takes a gimmick and runs with it as far as it possibly can in the best way possible. It keeps the player interested and the difficulty curve fair by slowly feeding new tools to change the environment and gameplay, ensuring the game stays fresh towards the end. It is, however, on the short end, and a special world with extremely challenging stages at the end of the game would not have hurt it at all. That said, when the only complaint is that the player is left wishing for more, even after a filling meal, it is a great testament to how good and solid Splasher truly is.
Splasher is a very fun action platformer with lots of fast-paced action and a great and colorful painting/washing away gameplay mechanics.
While Splasher is not revolutionizing the genre and clearly has a hard to ignore nod or two to the lead's past projects, Splashteam has done an incredible job in creating this platformer. The game plays great, is beautiful to look at, and has more than enough challenges to take replay value to the top. It's the best platformer I played in the last couple of years, the last one probably being Rayman Legends (which we reviewed a few years ago), and I truly hope the success of this game will give us a sequel in the future!
If you are a fan of 2D platformers and looking for a fast-paced, fun and colorful game, Splasher is the answer.
