1-2-Switch contains minigames that are both fun diversions and promising examples of the technology at work within the system’s Joy-Cons, but several duds, a lack of substance or progression, and an expensive asking price make it feel like something that would have been better suited as a pack-in title.

There is no good reason to pay 50 U.S Dollars for a game that is pretty weak in gameplay and content.

Yes, this is way too expensive; yes, it's in need of a decent amount of fine-tuning here and there; and yes, after getting a taste of a mini-game you have pretty much experienced everything it has to offer. However, while 1-2 Switch is not as good as it should be for a launch title, and although it gives a bitter tech demo aftertaste, it's hard to deny how fun it can be when gathering a bunch of friends ready to go bat-switch crazy with it.

The number and variety of the games offered ensures at least a couple of hours of gameplay. This is a game that you'll use to show off the Switch to your friends, but the simplicity and general inaccuracy of the games and its lack of character limit its appeal and longevity.

Is 1-2 Switch a good game? Yes it is, but that doesn't mean it's a good game that's worth the [the price tag].

Their array of options are being checked off a list, but never over-emphasizes one aspect of the controllers. If you have an active group of friends who like it wacky, 1-2-Switch will serve you well. Anybody else is probably out of luck here.

1-2-Switch is a great tech demo that shows what Nintendo Switch is really capable of. The 28 different minigames are easy to use and enjoyable, but only if you can count on a group of friends to play with. The launch price is perhaps too much expensive for a product that should have been included in bundle with the console, an issue that will probably prevent Nintendo from achieving the same success achieved by Wii Sports and Nintendo Land, which were included respectively with Wii and Wii U.

The misfortune here for Nintendo EAD is that party games need to be accessible and appealing to a mass audience, but 1-2-Switch settles for a very specific demographic and all but alienates the rest. For that reason, it's not a purchase I would recommend; it would have been better as a "free" pack in so that people would get the chance to try it for themselves before deciding on whether it had any long-term longevity for them.

A proof of concept more than a game itself.

While 1-2 Switch is overpriced, it is a brilliant party game in a suitable setting. If you have the right social circle to play it with, you should go for it. Consider waiting for it to become cheaper or to be bundled with something else though.

Whether munching a sandwich or milking a cow, allow yourself to get lost in the silliness and 1-2-Switch soon becomes the perfect party game with friends. There are clear shortcomings, but there is enough to entertain and the game serves its purpose well in opening your eyes to what potential the Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch have in tandem.

1, 2 Switch is indeed a fun game in places. It has a number of games that really show off the tech within the Switch, especially the Joy-Cons, and the HD Rumble is particularly impressive. That being said, unless you have regular gatherings and spare cash to burn, it'll certainly feel steep at the asking price.

Had this game been bundled in with the console, it would have been lauded as a successful way to get friends and family members into playing the Switch, as Wii Sports did for the Wii. Unfortunately, for a $50 game the scrutiny bar is set a lot higher and after a couple of hours the game rapidly turns stale. If you’ve got a house party coming up and you’re able to borrow a copy or pick one up for less than $20, you won’t regret it, but there are only so many times you can strut down a catwalk, rock your Switch to sleep and beat your chest like a gorilla before the alcohol wears off and you realise how much of an idiot you look.

For 50 USD you get 28 mini-games, about 20 of which are actually worth while and none of which will keep your group playing past the first week. For 50 dollars, 10 dollars less than Breath of the Wild, you get a glorified mini-game collection. There would be no justifiable reason to buy this game for 30 dollars, let alone 50.

You should not pay for it and even as a pack-in title it would see little to no use after trying it once. It’s time to 1, 2 Switch up your game Nintendo.

1, 2 Switch is a ridiculously fun party game in short spurts. The price point really hurts, but the idea of a face to face party game is something that I would like to see in future party games.

I think Nintendo missed out on a perfect pack-in game opportunity and a great way to introduce gamers to what is new about the Joy-Con and the system as a whole.

1-2 - Switch isn’t worth it. It’s not fun and offers very little content. This game should have came bundled with the Nintendo Switch. Releasing this game alone doesn’t make any sense.

1-2-Switch is guaranteed to generate more than a few laughs in social situations, even if some of the games will only be played once or twice. It's definitely THE title to show off the Switch's features, if you wanted to show them off. It lacks any real long term sustenance, though, and definitely should have been a pack in.
