Today as thirteen years ago FInal Fantasy XII is still a great game, blessed by an innovative combat system and a great and vibrant world. Maybe the story is not as grasping as others, but it still a pleasure ti play.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is arguably one of the best games in the franchise, and with amazing new features like the Zodiac Job board and a newly recorded score, the best just got better.

Final Fantasy XII is a welcome departure from the lacklustre Nintendo Switch ports of past Final Fantasy games. There's enough in way of gameplay changes to justify picking it up while the story remains as good as ever. If you own a Nintendo Switch, this is one Final Fantasy game you have to play.

A loyal and heartfelt remaster, but no matter how much Square Enix polishes Final Fantasy XII, the company is never going to wear down those occasional bumps that affected the overall package the first time. New RPG systems, rebalanced enemies, UI updates and speed options all boil down to a much smoother, nicer (prettier!) version of the game than the original European release. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a wonderfully nostalgic, but undeniably flawed, return to Ivalice.

For such a largescale RPG as Final Fantasy XII, it's great being to experience the title at home and on the go with all necessary enhancements

The main appeal of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is going to be for newcomers and Switch owners looking to play on the go. In addition to Zodiac Age being the definitive experience, one that includes several additions that improve the overall experience, it even results in a more satisfying experience. Unfortunately, despite some steps forward, it doesn't stop this remaster from having muddy visuals when on the go. That being said, it really is a must have for JRPG fans and worth the cost.

Widely acclaimed when it first came out in 2006, Final Fantasy XII is now coming out for Nintendo Switch through its Zodiac Age Remaster, realeased for PS4 in 2017. It's basically the same game, with minor visual flaws, but we won't complain for it's the first time we can enjoy this generous and enchanting journey on a handheld system.

Other than the limits of remastering the visuals of the old classic, there were no disappointments in the gameplay elements at all. With the added convenience on top of the above standard user interface, the gameplay session was much smoother than expected. Unlike the original, the new functionality allows players to pre-set their Gambits as well as forming new License Boards any time you want. Biggest improvement of course is the quick transition between loading times. All in all it’s a positive update well fit for the current generation of consoles.

Final Fantasy XII is a good game that broke a lot of ground upon release, as an RPG, as a work of fantasy, and as a Final Fantasy entry. With that said, The Zodiac Age feels like a bare-minimum up-port, with little besides the textures being improved.

As a game, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is quite good if you're open to changing up a long-established formula.

It took five years for the 12th installment of Final Fantasy series to finally release and now these fans have been waiting almost 11 years for the remaster of Zodiac Age. Either you're a fan of this series or it's your first time playing JRPGs, Anyhow this is a game you don't want to miss.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is an extremely solid and polished remaster of the most unusual mainline entry. If you've never played FFXII this is the best way to give it a go and if you are a veteran, having the changes from the previously Japan only IZJS version give you another reason to revisit Ivalice.

A decent port of a great Final Fantasy with one of the cleverest combat systems in RPGs.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age on PC is an excellent port and the definitive version of the game, thanks to a variety of additional options not found in the original PlayStation 4 release, such as the ability to activate cheats, play in New Game + mode from the beginning, graphics customization and the absence of any major issue. The gameplay changes also found in last year's release make the game much more enjoyable than the original PlayStation 2 release, such as the ability to speed up gameplay and the multiple License Boards. Ivalice has never looked better.

It looks and sounds great, but even this remaster’s improvements and decent combat doesn’t make the story any better.

Final Fantasy XII is a classic title which can be played enjoyably without considering its release time. Luckily, the game is slightly more than just a remaster and some changes in gameplay core makes it a modern and pleasant experience. Even if you are not into Final Fantasy, you can still relish it.
