During my time with Respawning, I have had the opportunity to play a lot of Musou/Warriors games, and I feel like what we’re playing here is slightly underwhelming. It does a great job in giving exposure to lesser known titles from Koei Tecmo’s impressive library of characters however I have found that there isn’t much to offer regarding expansive features and the roster is minimal in comparison to other titles found in the genre.

Warriors All Stars is your typical Omega Force outing. While the game highlights the witty and humorous character dialogue of the smaller focused roster, newcomers would not find much here to be interested in. An energetic soundtrack, fast and visually striking combat, and a ton of replayability. While a lack of any Free Mode and some forced story repetition hold it back from its fullest potential, Series veterans and fans of Koei Tecmo games get a wonderful love letter wrapped in a 1000 K.O count birthday present of fun.

Even with my issues with the game, it leaves me with a good impression. I enjoyed my time with All-Stars and if you like the Warriors games, you’ll enjoy your time too. I wished they had a wider cast of characters though and decided to dial back the team aspect a bit. But playing All-Stars got me itching to hop back into a Warriors game and definitely has me excited for what Koei Tecmo may be bringing with Dynasty Warriors 9, set to be released in 2018.

Warriors All-Stars suffers from poor storytelling and lacks innovation, but its solid musou gameplay and diverse cast of characters will keep players glued to the screen for countless hours.

I had a blast playing this game for the most part, Warriors All Stars wasn't the crossover we deserved but it was the crossover we needed and I can't help but recommend it to fans of the Musou series.

Warriors All-Stars is a game content to pile up emblematic characters of Tecmo Koei's franchises around an heavy action gameplay. Suffering from an artistic direction that mixes weirdly, I can only recommend this game to true fans of the franchises and lovers of the Musou genre.

As much as I wanted to love Warriors All-Stars, I couldn’t. There was something missing, even though the graphics were marvellously polished. With a massive lack of variety and a rather taxing effort required to fully appreciate the story in its entirety, I ultimately felt that it wasn’t worth the effort, which is a horrible thing to say about a once beloved franchise. Deep down I wanted Warriors All-Stars to be a game-changer, but it wound up as a game changer.

All-Stars is still a competently-made game, and fans of the series and Koei Tecmo’s properties will probably find much to enjoy here. Outside of that demographic, though, this game is blindingly mediocre, and hardly worth your time.

Warriors All-Stars is Omega Force’s latest creation and possible the successor to the Warriors Orochi series which saw a mash up of the Dynasty and Samurai series as well as other characters from Atelier, Ninja Gaiden and Soul Calibur. Transported to another world in order to help save it, join in on a brand new adventure with elements and characters from across the various IPs that Koei Tecmo’s has access to.

Bringing together some of Tecmo Koei’s biggest stars in a convoluted furry cloud of deja vu.

This game is a tribute to both the franchises it integrates and the musou gameplay. Koei Tecmo with Omega Games weren't scared to go all out in the exaggeration of this kind of battles. While the story is interesting enough to serve as a string to mix all the characters, the new movesets and special attacks are a blast to just beat thousand of enemies. It´s a shame you can't play multiplayer of any kind.

Warriors All-Stars is definitely a surprisingly innovative game. Instead of a bland cross over Omega Force took the extra mile to deliver a somewhat fitting story, mixed with lively, unique dialogues, sometimes specifically written for our chosen character. In combination with the silly furry inhabitants of the new-found world, new special enhancements for the gameplay and solid, bright graphics Omega Force´s cross over can definitely achieve its own atmosphere. Because of the new gameplay enhancements and enjoyable yet cliché story, that lives off our beloved heroes, Warriors All-Stars is a great Warriors game, which is more than just a simple license leech.

If you're a fan of the Warriors series then this is a fantastic evolution to that mixing a pile of characters from so many franchises.

Though the story is boring and the frame rate could be upped, the gameplay, both inside and outside of battle, make All-Stars truly feel like a celebration of gaming’s most over-the-top genre.

All-in-all, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force did an excellent job with Warriors All-Stars. It may have its minor downfalls, such as a slightly decreased difficulty level and overall lack of territory battles, but it more than makes up for it with its fun and addictive gameplay, and phenomenal renditions of some of Koei Tecmo’s most beloved IPs.
